I have some Ciprofloxacin hcl pills left, trying figure out what they treat.

I'm a 69 year old man. Had my Turp done in December, 2011. I have my PSA checked every 12 months. In December 2012, my PSA was 1.5. The last PSA check-up should be December 2013 but I had unknowingly delayed until March, 2014. From February to March, my wife and I took a holiday to Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Bangkok and during that time I noticed my urine discharge was not smooth and slightly restricted. When I came back to Melbourne, I had my blood diagnosed and the PSA reading was a shocker. It reads 26. I went for an Ultrasound subsequently. Then the drama came. My GP suspects I am having infection of the prostate and she prescribes me with Ciprofloxacin 500 and I am still taking it. However, on the 25th March, 2014 Sunday at 5am I could not urinate and I was taken to the emergency hospital at Sundringham and a catheter was attached on me.
I am worry and do not know what to do.

HCL is HydroChloride. Hydrochloric acid is the primary digestive acid in your stomach, drugs are usually some form of HCL to ensure chemical compatibility with your digestive system...otherwise they wouldn't work, or worse make you ill.

I can not believe the number of people taking non-prescribed antibiotics! If a complete route is not taken, you can not only not cure the infection, but make it very much worse and harder to cure!

I have had a total hysterectomy when I was 26,I am now 65,my vagina jus out of the blue has started swelling,it's normally not painful just irritating,my Doctor did cultures of both my mouth and vagina,seems I have a bacterial infection going on in my mouth,can this also be causing the vagina swelling,she put Me on 500mg Ciprofloxacin every 12 praying it works.

If you don't have a full route of it, you could be setting yourself up for a very resistant strain of the infection you now have. It is important to take ALL of your prescribed antibiotics even if you start to feel better.

I have a boil on my inside lower thigh by the vagina it went down. I have been taking cipro 250mg twice a day since Friday and i had this boil since last Friday. I have been resting and taking hot showers and putting ointment on it and putting a bandage on it it has gone down a lot
I think the Cipro has helped it too
