What Should I Expect When Going From 450mg Of Bupropion Xl To 300mg?

Hello, I have been taking 450mg of Bupropion for about 5 or 6 years and my Psychiatrist thought it might be a good idea to lower the dosage to 300mg.

What risks am I taking with this? What are some of the possible side effects? What are some other experiences that you have had with this drug??

I am just very worried because I always thought this was the drug that got me out of bed and really on top of things with depression. Now I am starting to wonder if it is frying my brain. Please help with any insight you might have! :D

thanks.

In my opinion, lowering the dose can potentially put your body at risk for a state of temporary withdrawal. Reason I say that is if you've been taking it for years and years, your body has probably become dependent on having that particular dose in your system.

Posted below is a case report on Bupropion-Associated Withdrawal Symptoms, if you're interested in knowing what types of symptoms one might experience: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC181057

You may also want to browse and search through the forums here under "bupropion", as there are many people posting their personal experiences on this medication.

I hope this helps!
