I have been on medicaid for 3 years now and they have paid for all of my oxycodone.. if that isnt legit enough i dont know what is.. when the state gov is actually paying and keeping track of your scripts what more proof could i offer.. but now it seems i can not find a pharmacy that will fill any oxycodone.. I am a local in Jacksonville also.. please if anyone can help please.. i do not abuse or distribute i just take what i need to help me be active with my 3 children and live a normal life.. now im going through withdrawls and beyond that if i beat the withdrawls then im having trouble getting out the bed or walking or even sitting too long.. its not a good life .. the medicine really does help me live a normal productive life.. please if anyone can help.. any ideas at all my family and I would be more then grateful thank you

Hi Alex, My name is Freddy and I live just north of Brunswick.I have had the god awfullest time getting my prescription of oxycodone filled.all of the pharmacies in the Brunswick say they are having trouble getting it.I have been going to a pain managment doctor in Brunswick since last August.I originally was getting my scripts filled at Harveys and Rite Aid in Brunswick but in December of 2011 they tell me they have not been able to get it.Through a nephew of mine I was introduced to a pharmacist in MacClenny Fl and was able to get my meds filled in November and December at Wall Mart and then all of a sudden they say they have not been able to get any Oxycodone.I was completely out for two months and then through another introduction was able to get them filled at Winn Dixie last month in March. Then this month, the same old song and dance, they say there corporate office want allow them to fill out of state doctors. My doctor is a very good doctor and has no red flags Alex.If you could help me I would greatly appreciate it.I am in terrible pain and just cant hardly deal with it.I have had several back surgeries that didnt work and in need of both knees needing total knee replacements and I have no health ins.My doctor says I will no doubt need to be on pain meds the rest of my life.I am fifty nine years old and dont have any answers. This is so very frustrating not to be able to find my medication.Everywhere I go to ask the pharmacies if they can fill my scripts they look at me like I some kind of a criminal.I have tried several other medications but I have allergic reactions to all of them except the Oxycodone. It is such a shame that people have abused and illegally got this medication for the wrong reasons but for the people like me who are honest and need it , it is just not fair.PLEASE Alex if you can help me, let me know.If any one else reads this and has any suggestions please let me know, thanks.....Freddy

I was just put on MS Contin last month. My script ran out today so I went to get it filled. Silly me. I went to Wal-mart, Walgreens and CVS - no one could fill the MS Contin - they all said they were out. I called about a dozen places and the nearest Walgreens is 60 miles away. What is going on - I'm in Central FL.

I'm Lori. I have been on pain meds for years. I am under the care of one of the top 10 pain management doctors in FL (Bradenton). She recently put me on MS Contin 15 mg. I am dog sitting for a friend in Bartow FL. I went to get my MS Contin 15 mg tabs filled today. No one had any. I went to walmarts, walgreens and CVS in Bartow. All said they were out. I called the Walmarts in Bradenton where I got my first script last month- they are out. I call Walmarts in Avon Park, FL, Sebring, FL - same story. I finally found a Walgreens in Avon Park that says they have some. I'm going tomorrow to get my script filled. I am out today - so I will suffer until tomorrow. What is going on? One of te Walmarts said they had some, but not enought to fill my script. So? Whell it appears if you only get a partial fill on MS Contin you forfeit the rest. What's with that? I have had a cervical fusion, 2 rotator cuff surgies. I am currently getting ready for a lumbar fusion. I need these meds - I don't want them - I need them. This new FL Pill mill law sucks. My husband and I travel full time in an RV. Now I have to see a doctors every 3 months. That means I will have to fly back to FL when we are able to travel again because we only move 200 miles max a day and not every day. It takes me a month just to get to MI. They have just made my tough life tougher . Please do something. Thanks.

I am not in Jacksonville, but live in NE Ga and it is the same here. My fiance has a host of back problems and cannot get her prescription filled. Even the pharmacy she had been going to for several months, (CVS), suddenly hired a new part time pharmacist who was there last month and she felt that my fiance's doc was writing her for too much, so they would not fill it and will not now. She had been getting the same amount filled there every month. Substances like alcohol and cigarettes kill more ppl each day than the idiots who abuse pain meds do each year, and neither of those two products have any medical value to the human body at all, but are for the most part uncontrolled. Pain medications which do have legitimate medical benefits to a large number of ppl are being eradicated though??? What possible sense does that make? There is no point of even going into the fact that my fiance has now lost her job because she has been unable to come back to work because its the same thing that is happening to millions of people and until people start calling the DEA, or they're local representatives and taking action to stand up for they're now non existent rights then its open season on pain sufferers in America. Also, until the news and media starts doing stories on the people who are suffering needlessly instead of every junky who died somewhere from an overdose nothing will change and the media will continue making the problem worse. Actually, the news media needs to start putting pressure, as well as pain patients on the DEA....interview them and ask why the drug dealers are able to get they're scripts filled without any problem but legitimate chronic pain sufferers are not. Point out that because drug dealers do not take it and can spend time getting fake ID's for every county in they're state, as well as driving around for as long as it takes every day to find it that they get it all and first but chronic pain sufferers cannot and do not do those things so they run out. For crying out loud though, if every single legitimate chronic pain patient would stand up for they're God given rights as a human being and quit cowering in silence because of the dehumanizing scare tactics of pharmacies and start calling everyone, every senators office, every congressman, the governor, heck even the presidents office, and especially the DEA then this growing problem could be stopped in a month or two. Also, if you are part of the media then either do something to show these kinds of atrocities, or make your lot with the type of people who followed Hitler and be done with it.....as well as your own soul.

Some CVS pharmacies are like that but not all. My mom and dad ran into trouble with a specific person but went back and a different person filled them. Also CVS is being told to only fill in the zip code of the doctor prescribing. I hope this helps a little. I know what you are going through and it sucks!

I sent a email to wpbf in west palm beach describing the exact problems, that everyone here is having never heard back from them. Only a immediate response that they would get back to me. I've had back surgery which didn't work there was only a 60% chance it would so no to suprise there but I was getting 30mg oxy from my surgeon for several months. Then he said I need to go to pain mgmt. the first one found out I was taking roxies and I got the "line," sorry we don't feel comfortable. So we won't be taking you on as a patient. And I was with them before the surgery. So I found another one where I don't really like the Dr. but what can i do? and he won't write scrips for oxycodone. So now I'm getting morphine, but at a very low dose and I know my sister needs them she's had childhood arthritus and now, all kinds of stuff and I know several other people that need them, everyone is getting the same old song and dance. DEA has thrown the baby out with the bathwater, pretty soon the only thing anyone will be able to take for pain will be the black tar heroin they're moving up from Mexico to fill the oxy shortage.

Well to heck with all this complaining which does nothing to solve the problem so I started a petition to get the laws changed or something done last night. Seems you can go to a site called change.org I believe it was and start a petition on anything you want. So if you happen to see the one I started or want things changed go to that website and see if you can find it. I don't have an exact link and don't know much about the site. Just found it and did it on the spur of the moment....

My husband is having the same problems getting his RX filled, everytime he goes to any pharmacy they are already out of them. He has been on them for 3 or 4 years and has major back, neck, and shoulder problems. He goes to his primary care doctor for the Rx's...he does not dr shop like most people do and it is very frustrating for those who really need them and they are not available for them. The pharmacys fill Rx's for these overnight pain clinics that keep popping up and it's just not fair. The pharmacys should have a list of ligit doctors offices and only fill the Rx's for those on the list.

DEA Administrator - Michele Leonhart - Called Out by Rep. Jared Polis - Watch on youtube, This women is ruining lives here in florida Now I understand the comment every druggist gives when you have a script for oxycodone it is just "I don't feel comfortable filling this for you" My family my friends and myself have all heard this EXACT same line from workers in walgreens cvs and all the other stores. Now I know why the cleaning up of the pill-mills was done so fast and furiously. Where law abiding people in severe pain are treated like criminals only because they're in pain.

Wow, One pharmist stands up! That's mighty cool of you Alex but I bet 7 out of 10 people get results at your store and most likley depends when they ask if you have them or not. Don't get me wrong Alex your setting an example for other pharmacies but will it catch on? We really need to read the other posts and really look and see who we complain to. Complaining to each other won't solve anything. We need to complain to the right people to get results. It dosent matter what issues we have with our bodies or what surgerys we've had. IT IS A PERSCRIPTION ISSUED BY A GOOD STANDING LICSENSED DOCTOR! Since when the pharmacys get the authority to judge people on weither or not TO HONNOR A VALID PERSCRIPTION! And the pharmacys wonder why they get robbed. Oxycodone IR is a very effictive and not only that affordable! People with out insurance can't afford almost $1,000 dollars a month for a 30 day supply! It dosent matter if every drug was (tamper proof) the addiction will be abused one way or another. The D.E.A has found more than one case of drugs being used incorrectly and most likley noticed this drug is a huge reason why other drugs that cost more and (tamper proof) aren't being sold and it takes a couple billion dollar a year business owners to feel threatend and lobby to the right politics to get results. Why do you think politics fight over a spot in congress when they spend 3.4 million in advertisement to get the spot ITS NOT THE YEARLY SALERY ITS POWER! They aren't bothered by there income or way of life. Absolute power=Absoulte corruption. They can stall this issue but the facts are IT IS AN EFFICTIVE AND AFFORDABLE MEDICATION people can afford! I feel even waiting more than 2 days to get your perscription filled is garbage. Many doctors have perscribed other drugs but now there in shortage to and a matter of time before they have a certin number they can produce a month. I've personally been threw everything everyones going threw and often wonder how do other people work 9 to 5 and take care of a child much less more and continue to handle a normal life when they have to wait a week or more for there medications or spend 3 days looking and still not locate their medications? I bet the welfair,H.U.D and food stamp offices are pretty busy not to mention the methadone clinics and not to mention when people can get dosed ALMOST 300MG"S OF METHADONE A DAY FOR $10 with company's working with and threw the city THAT'S A PROBLEM WHY DON'T POLITCS BOTHER THEM? I have the same issues everyone else has and of course would love a place that can meet my medications needs monthly any pharmacy that can help call Jason 904-654-5317 Leave message.I live in Orange Park,Fleming Island Jacksonville FL area. Hopefully something I've posted makes sense and bothered the right people to do something about it. Thanks for reading guys!

Hey I saw you were asking a reply, its getting worse, My fiance was going to walgreens on Sanjose. they would LIE to people and say no. They had them and ONLY gave to people who were regular customers. then the DEA 2 months ago shut them down. My fiance has been to 47 pharmacies today. They all say no, or we only fill for OUR customers in OUR zip, or yes but you have never been here and my favorite is Yes but iys $8.87 a pill we dont accept insurance that comes to $1000.00. Is that right? Shouldnt it be 1st come 1st serve? Now we have to worry about detox. if its soo hard to find why do doctors prescribe them? This frustrates me soo badly!
