What Is The Percentage Of Hydrocodone In Qualitest 7.5/325 Since There Is A Variable For Active Ingredients In Generics.

I have been taking Hydrocodone 7.5/325 for couple of years now under the supervision of my pain management doctor for a 4 disc fusion of my neck. Certain manufacturer drugs work better than others. Yours seems to have less affect on my pain. I would like to know the percentage of hydrocodone in your Generic as I have heard the government allows for a variable on this. I also have tried Watson pill 3203, white oblong. Don't know the manufacturer on my first script but the pill was white oblong bigger than yours or Watson's. Thanks Look forward to your response.

Additionally, while the amount of the active ingredient in generics can vary by plus or minus 20%, the amount of variability is not logged and made public, once it is approved by the FDA and proven to fall within that acceptable variance, it is considered the same as all other generics that are available.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

What is the reason to stay with Watson?

The reason to stay with Watson generic is that it contains 100% of the amount of the active ingredient (hydrocodone) that is in the name brand drug (should be 10 mgs). The other generics I have had analyzed are at ~80% (8 mgs). I believe the ones I haven't had examined are also at about 80% (they are noticeably less effective). Unfortunately, the only pharmacy that carries Watson generic now (in my area, anyway) is Walgreens--and many insurance companies have eliminated Walgreens from their provider list. The out of pocket cost at Walgreens was $95 the last time I checked. :-(

So true, but Watson was bought out and only mfr. on the market is Mallinckrodt and they don't contain ANY pain med. at the most about .0003 percent when it s/b 7 to 12 percent at least. Walgreens is the worst now for carrying this dud fake pill. I am referring to the hydrocodone 10/325. No other mfr. available on the market and apparently there is no such thing as a real Norco

Obviously, you have fell victim to a lying pharmacist..... Qualitest was bought by Par but are still available.... make sure you get yellow ones made in Alabama. The white ones made in NY are not as effective (for me), Some go by Par, others still use Qualitest when in tx. My pharmacy uses the Qualitest brand. In Ohio stores use the Par name. Just make sure they are the yellow ones.... and there are several so-called hydrocodone manufacturers, just many don't work well.
