What Is The Difference Between Oxycodone And Oxycontin (Page 2)

I am taking 30 mgs. Oxycodone up to 3 pills per day for severe back pain. Years ago I was on Oxycontin and don't remember the mgs. What is the difference between these two medications. I believe Oxycontin is stronger if they are the same dosage, is that correct?

Hi Mam,
Sorry that nobody got back to you, the new Oxycontin OPs don't work like the old Oxycontin OCs. I got prescribed 60 mg OPs once, I tried taking them and they did nothing for me at first. Since the 60s are scored and big, I cut them in half and took them like that. They worked very well after I cut them in half, and I took 6 halves a day.
