What Is The Shelf Life Of Most Medications?

I would like to know the Shelf Life of most medications? Meaning will they still be good at say after being stored in a kitchen cubboard for say a year, would they still be good or good to take? Please reply to my email address, thank you, Paul.

Going by U.S. FDA guidelines, if they are in a pharmacy bottle, they are good for one year from the date they were dispensed to you. If they are in the original factory sealed container, they are good for approximately 4 to 5 years.

The FDA wens that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

What is the shelf life of Hydromorphone? I'm supposed to take 3 a day, but sometimes I only take 2. I had to reschedule an appointment at my pain clinic and that made me go, for almost a week, without them. The Withdrawals were awful!! If for some reason or another I have to go without my meds, I have them to fall back on. Don't even want to think about the day I run out of my backups. So, I'm hoping they'll be good for a long time!!!!
