If your dr. writes for Kadian and accepts a generic form on the script the pharmacy can get it from Alpharma. It is the exact pill but with morphine sulfate on the label. Your pharmacist will have to do the digging and order it in for you in your dose.

KADIAN vs GENERIC Kadian. I am not a MD but I do take Kadian. This is what I know. Kadian is morphine sulphate slow release long lasting. KADIAN says Kadian on the capsule. There is Not a generic for Kadian. However, like I said Kadian is morphine sulphate. There are many manufacturers of Morphine sulphate. I was taking Kadian for many years. At one point the pharmacy filled my prescription with morphine sulphate instead. The pills were different but the bottle was still labeled Kadian. That should not have happened. Within 2 days I was in withdrawal from the morphine sulphate. My Pain Management doctor now writes the prescription to fill as written, meaning fill as Kadian .
