MY doctor told me I need for my stomach. So what is this and the side effect?

I took 1 metoclopram 10mg and during the night i got savear charlie horses in both legs. They were in knots and i coudn't get them out by rubbing them and i tried to stand up and i couldn't stand up it hurt so bad. I kept rubbing them hard and finally could walk them out. It really frightened me. Is this a side effect?

Metoclopramide is is used to help with digestive motility.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, seizures, and rapid weight gain.

And yes, Mavis, it has been known to cause muscle spasms, but you should have this checked out by a medical professional, because sometimes leg cramps are caused by a potassium deficiency.
