What Is Desoxyn?

Desoxyn is the brand name for the CII controlled Rx pharmaceutical methamphetamine. How is it prescribed? And also is it for ADD/ADHD?

Desoxyn is approved for treating ADHD and weight loss in those who are obese.

It is normally prescribed in tablet form at the lowest effective dosage, which is then adjusted for the individual, as needed. It usually starts at 5mg tablets once or twice a day and then can be raised in 5mg increments up to a maximum of 25mg daily.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, irritability, insomnia and anorexia.

Q: What is Desoxyn usually used for or the indication often given? A: I believe NARCOLEPSY, or falling asleep whilst driving or operating machinery is the primary reason/indication.Also Tx with Ritalin, Adderal, Provigal, Nuvigal and Strattera a NRI (norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) is utilized. Jet pilots is combat situations can as well use these stimulents as/or mandated by the flight surgeon or as protocol may allow. Methamphetamines as a pharmaceutical product such as Desoxyn is a empirical formula and is not the same as illegal concoctions produced in labs not afforded the legality of registered entities . Provigal and Nuvigal as used in the treatment of circadian rhythm disorders for fire and police personal as well. Purportedly, the use of these sleep/wake disorders are to regain a modicum of the re-return of REM III sleep to the patient. o
