There are actually just drug classes, not narcotic classes, because not all medications in the various classes are narcotics.

As to which one Dilaudid/Hydromorphone is in, its high potential for abuse causes it to be considered a Schedule 2 substance. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I have Hep C. I go to pain management Dr. once a month to get scripts for dilaudid. Been taking meds for 4 yrs. Cronic pain in back and both knees. Need knee replacement surgerys. I'm 50 yrs. old. Was told to hold off on surgerys as long as possible,cause they're only good for about 5-7 yrs. Anyway, pain Dr. Is in trouble for Medicaid fraud!!! My pharmacy will no longer be able to fill Schedule 2 meds!!
Is there anything else I can take that will work like my Hydromorphone do and be easy on my liver,that is not a Schedule 2?
