Hi Betty,

Sorry to hear about your condition. From what I understand, many pain doctors will largely base their medical considerations off your medical records, insurance coverage, and a number of other individual factors. I don't think there's a specific thing you can say to alter there decisions unless you really know the doctor as an individual and/or are able to understand their point of view as well.

I would just recommend being yourself and not necessarily telling them what they should be prescribing you, since that is their job as a doctor. However, it's possible that certain key words or phrases may trigger them to see you in a certain light based on how you present yourself and what vibes you give off coming into the appointment. They are likely well trained in their ability to read people, but still have rules and regulations that they also have to abide by. At the end of the day though, they are human too... but if they don't act like it and can't treat you right, it's probably just best to change doctors to someone who is willing to hear your side of the story and compare it with the evidence in your records for making an ultimate decision.

I hope this insight helps! Does anyone else have advice from personal experience?
