What Are Good Manufacturers Of Sertraline That People Find Effective (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

I've been taking Zoloft then Sertraline for twenty years and I'm SURE the brand is not the same. For the past few years, I've become very depressed again, but never thought it might be because of a lousy manufacturer (as happened with Lorazepam when Watson was bought by lousy Actavis). Does anyone know a good, effective BRAND of Sertraline that has helped them a lot with depression?

I order from Costco but can't figure out the brand on the label - will call tomorrow and ask. What a jungle this is becoming. Just not right.

Oh you're so nice to offer help. I'll try Lupin if this new one (Green Mountain) doesn't work. I was on Northstar and it seemed like a dud (200mg, eeeks). I'm going to check my very old records, see if I can find the original brand I started on in 1993.

It's true after taking Sertraline for so many years, sometimes efficacy wears down. HOWEVER, I am never ever ever going to go through getting off an antidepressant and going through the hideous trial and error to find another one. This works, maybe not as well, but it works.

I'll ask my shrink re adding something to boost the Sertraline. Many many thanks.

Thanks for info re Lupin. Cannot go off Sertraline/Zoloft as I couldn't handle the pretty awful withdrawal symptoms. Going to stick with either Zoloft (got discount or free (?) card from Pfizer or tr Lupin.

Just got switched to Accord manufactured Sertraline from Greenstone and after 3 days of headaches I am now experiencing the headache and nausea! Walgreens just told me prescription if not covered by my insurance will be over $1300 / month. You've got to be kidding me!!!

I am having the same issue at Walgreens currently. I do not like the new manufacturer- Accord. Was Walgreens able to provide the Aurobindo the same day requested or did they have to order it? Also, was it part of their script program? Thank you!

I think it's an idea but I'm with you. The two generics I've tried in the last month we're not good fits at all. The one I haven't tried is Lupin. But I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

My insurance company won't cover the name brand. So Pfizer gave me a discount card.

Will your insurance cover the Zoloft? If it's over $130/month call Pfizer's Patient Services back and let them know.

Re: Sara Z (# 18) Expand Referenced Message

I have had this issue, aurobindo was working great and then one month got the accord refill instead which after a month was terrible for me. Went back to aurobindo and slowly felt better. So out of fear of this keep happening I switched to Zoloft. I have to say that I think the aurobindo generic worked better for me. I have noticed after 2 months not feeling as good. Wondering has anyone else had this experience? I hate to risk the eneric game but I have not been feeling great, and I hate this depression pain!

Hello, Denise! How are you?

After being on it for 20 years, it is also possible that your body had just become tolerant to it and it no longer works as well for you. It is completely normal for that to happen and it usually will eventually happen with anything from blood pressure medications to blood thinners.

As to figuring out the who manufactures it, I can look it up, if you can post back with a description of the tablets and the markings on them.

The FDA lists the side effects of Sertaline/Zoloft as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.

I looked to see which one my roommate takes for his depression and it's manufactured by Lupin Pharmaceuticals.

Is there anything else I can help with?
