What To Take After Stopping Prolia?

I had two injections of prolia and then my doctor said we could stop, because I was well - that was 2 years ago. Now I had a test and it seems my results are worse again. My doctor said to start with bonviva again (medication I used before prolia). I take calcium 1 calcimagon-d3 forte every day. Are there other therapies? I had no problems when I took prolia, but I don't want it anymore because of the side effects.

I found the post on Side effects experienced after a Prolia injection very interesting as I have been having this injection every six months for osteoporosis for the last three and a half years. I have had this injection sometimes in the arm and sometimes in the stomache depending on the nurse/dr. injecting. I must say I have never had any reaction either in terms of a rash or nausea etc. I am interested to read any further information on this drug

Marmara, if you didn't experience any issues, before, why are you worried about side effects, now?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including itching, headache, administration site reaction, joint pain, and fainting.

Helenore, has anything changed for you? Are you still doing well on it?

Are either of you on any other medications?

I find the posts about Prolia very interesting. I am taking nothing else for my Osteoporosis and have no side effects at all from the six monthly injections. As mentioned before I have been having these injections for quite a few years now.

I had my first Prolia shot in May. I am supposed to get my 2nd shot in November. My hair is falling out, I have a knot on the palm of my hand and my back and neck hurt so bad that I can’t sleep at night. I will not be getting the 2nd shot. I am 58. I was on Fosamax for 5 years or more. Bone density continued to get worse. What should I try next? I’m terrified not to be on anything, but the side effects of theses drugs are awful!
