What Oxycontins Are To Me

Oxycodones are the best and worst things. They bring love and they bring hate. They saw me through the best times and gave the very worst. The ups and downs follow. But no matter how much i hate them I love them ten times more. And that's the problem. I think I might be dependent. Anyone else?

If you think that is addiction you best never take methadone. The oxy is min. compared to some others. Never ever take any pain meds for a duration, or addict or not, your body will respond by dependence. Not good unless your having a surgery, chronic pain cannot work etc. If you were not an addict you are now. However, you can choose to sit through the withdraw periods and they will pass I promise you. Just keep busy and move forward. If you find yourself taking more yes you are an addict without pain or surgery.

I recommend using morphine sulfate. I LIVED, through the 70s, and have no desire to be high now, but oxys, tended to give me a euphoric feeling, all chatty & stuff, making me think I can do things, that really Im unable to do without pain (do WAY too much) compared to morphine. If you take these narcotics on a daily basis, as I do, your body WILL get addicted, and if you stop cold, YOU CAN DEPEND ON going through withdrawal. I take 45 mg per day, since I fell off my roof & landed on my back, on bricks (6 years ago).

I slept too late once & found myself throwing up, cold sweats, shakes etc, it took me a couple of hours before I realized "OMG this is withdrawal" water, wouldn't even stay down. I was dog sick for 3 days. I lost my Pain Dr for 7 months and was bed bound - except for trips to buy food (30 minutes)... YOU CAN TAPER OFF PAIN MEDS AND AVOID WITHDRAWAL - You will have diarrhea only. Anything else, is simply...an excuse.

Exactly right. I know someone who was very timid before they started on pain meds. They have been abusing them for over 35 years. The spouse allowed this to happen, enabled, I should say. This person has totally escaped all of life's responsibilities and I do mean all. They are unreliable for anything, when they're all high and feeling good they say they're gonna show up somewhere the next day. Next day comes and "Oh, I'm so sick, I don't feel good, I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it." Years and years of this B.S! Stab you in the back as soon as you turn away from them. They've almost burnt their house down so many times I can't count. I should have reported this person to child services long ago when their kids were still under age, what TF was I thinking that I didn't??? At least then maybe they would have had to have answered to and been accountable for their B.S! This person is extremely selfish and judgmental of others, like they're so perfect and in their euphoric mind I'm sure they do think they're perfect, SMH. I can't even begin to put into words their lack of accountability and responsibility. Well, the spouse is now addicted too, both of them are "disabled," I mean what are the odds that a married couple both end up disabled at a fairly young age?? Both have basically dropped out of society and have a legal drug dealer supplying their high. They've caused so much pain to their family with their lies, their trouble making, their overbearing behavior towards others, etc.. If these people were to EVER get sober they'd probably be horrified at their own behaviors in the last 30 + years. Time to stop supplying drug seekers with heavy duty drugs, basically huge quantities of man-made heroin.
