What is the difference between Progesterone supplements and medroxyprogest? I have been on Progesterone supplements for over 2 years and its breaking the bank. Looking for a more affordable alternative.

Based on my research, significant differences do exist between synthetic (Medroxyprogesterone) and natural progesterone. Natural progesterone duplicates the body's progesterone exactly, causes fewer side effects and can be more consistently utilized by the body. In the case of natural progesterone versus synthetic progestins in hormone replacement, natural does appear to be better.

Prescribed dosages also differ in regard to natural and synthetic progesterone. Synthetic progestin is 10 to 100 times as potent as the natural progesterone. This appears to be a tremendous range for some patients, but the doses fall well within those limits.

I'm not sure about price points for either option, but it sounds to me like you do get what you pay for in regards to overall efficacy.

You can learn more about this drug on the page for Progesterone Details

I hope this helps!
