Hydrocodone Apap 5/325mg contains (5 mg) of Hydrocodone + (325 mg) of Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone is a combination of two types of pain medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain. The Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics (which act in the central nervous system [CNS] to relieve pain), while the Acetaminophen (a less potent pain reliever) is used to boost the effects of the Hydrocodone.

If you're having problems with the dosage, I would speak with a doctor about increasing it instead of experimenting on your own.

On another note, have you considered adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet as well as some light exercise? Based on my research, pain can be caused by inflammation and most fruits and vegetables have anti- inflammatory properties.
