What Can Cause False Positive Benzodiazepines

I am currently prescribed 60mg Fluoxetine, 20 mg Abilify and 10mg Zolpidem, along with 15mg Mirtazapine. I have tested positive off and on for benzos since beginning Zolpidem in June. I tested positive at 1:30pm and negative at about 6:30pm. My urine test was sent to a lab. Why does this keep happening? I am on probation and do not want to go to jail!

None of the medications you listed are known for causing false positives for Benzodiazepines, however, there are some others that can.

Where you taking anything else? Even over the counter products?

I tested positive for bezoes too and never too any but I did take an allergy pill and it said u did too so I'm guessing that's what has the benzo s in it so if u take an allergy pill chances r u will show positive for benzo s I know sucks not being able to treat an allergy right but that's the Jist

Do the fallowing drugs test fauls positives? Quetiapine, Furarete, Symbyax, gubapetin. I have been by takings theres medicatins and my test have been positive for benzos. Could these pills be coming up positive as Benzo?

Ambien (zolpidem) is a benzo, therefore you will test positive for benzodiazepines while taking it.

I am also testing positive for diazepam (Valium) even though I don't take it. I take Ambien at night and Prozac and Abilify. Could these be causing my false positives for Valium?

My daughter was in rehab for drug addiction 2 years ago and has been drug tested weekly since then and has had no problems. Early this year she was diagnosted with MS and is currently taking various meds. for MS related problems. This week her urine test read positive for benzos. She has not taken any and this was not her drug of choice when she was addicted. They are giving her till Monday, 12/10/12 to come up with some proof that she did not take any. If she doesn't, she will be sent to jail for 6 years. I will give you here a list of what she is taking and perhaps you will see that one of these drugs can result in a flase positive for benzos:
ALEVE- much for pain
PHENAZOPYRIDINE
NITROFURANTOIN
CEFADROXIL
FLUCONAZOLE
REBIF - injection - 3x per week for MS
By the way, today's test was negative but they are still going to judge her based on the false position urine test
from Monday.

Zolipem or Ambien can test positive for Benzo. I am a nurse and have been random tested for years. I never tested positive for anything until I took Ambien CR. I was cleared at work because they are aware that it can test positive, but of course I had to bring a note from my doctor and my script to prove it.

I tested positive for benzos I honestley didn't take any. I obvs. Told them it was impossable and asked if I could somehow send it away to be re-looked at, on doing this it came back negative :) Yet they are now saying there's 5 diffrent benzos(I no about temazepam etc ) but surely if there testing for benzos a benzo is a benzo?? The doctor stated that I must of taken a illegal street valium which I clearley didn't at 6months pregnant, and still stating it came back negative, yet won't have it that I havnt taken a street valium? I'm confussed as when I try and challenge it as I no I honestley havnt taken anyything, I'm getting treated like I have taken something!!:( Does anybody know what I could do to get a straight answer and where from as I'm not getting1 from my local C.D.T as my unborn child is looking to be put on the at risk regioster threw this reading as I'm being accused of abusing benzos in my pregnany even though I've asked for a hair strand to prove it, it was a swab that came back.

Real nurse it is not a benzo and does not show on a 5 panel drug screen. Look it up its a hypnotic z drug. No benzo component

Was ordered a urine test earlier today but now I'm worried! I've been really sick with a viral chest and head infection and have been on several types of. Cough syrups, I'm on hydroxyzine for severe eczema, have been taking prednisone pack, and finally they had to give me visits rail for my itching abc hives. Ambien is a non-benzodiazapiem sleep aid. I was a pharm rep and it is NOT a benzo. It may. however show a false positive for benzos on some urine tests

Hello I have been in xanax .5 mg for 3 years and ive been going to a methadone clinic for almost 2years. this past friday i was given a urine test & was told i was suppose to be given a mouth swab test but they were out of swabs. So I was told that Monday (tomorrow) i would have to give another urine and a mouth swab. ive looked through the methadone clinics handbook several times and theres nothing in it about mouth swabs. i have had clean urines the whole time ive been at the clinic. what can i do so that i can come up clean for the mouth swab? i cant just stop taking the xanax without serious seizures and withdrawls. like ive said ive been on xanax for years.
