Wellbutrin Missed Period (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I don't care what the research states:

Wellbutrin causes your period to be late. I'm usually on time with my period, been taking the medicine 2 x a day (300mg) for 6 weeks now, still no period. I took 2 pregnancy test both negative. Several women on blogs are experiencing this same problem. I'll post again after I get my period, so you can have a timeline. I hope this helps.

I have been taking Wellbutrin 150mg for four months and have had two periods in that time. Prior to this I had a very short cycle and had sometimes two per month. Just wanted to add to the anecdotal evidence here that Wellbutrin does appear to affect many women's menstrual cycles.

So glad I found this! I started taking Wellbutrin 3 weeks ago and my period is late and I was freaking out and then it occurred to me to look to see if adding a new med could affect cycle. So glad I did!

I started welbutrin February wile having my period, I am very regular. I did not have a period in March and then again in April. Went on vacation towards the middle/end of April and I forgot to take my Wellbutrin for a week. As soon as I got home I started my period. Got back on a Wellbutrin when I got home and have not had a period since! I know it has to be Wellbutrin! I have thought about stopping just to test my theory but whenever I think about it I have something coming up in the next 2 weeks that I don’t want to deal with a period. I may do this in a couple of weeks since there’s a vacation planned in 1 month.

Been on Wellbutrin for a month 150 mg XR and I’m 7 days late…major bloating that I’ve never had before, I look like I’m 3 months pregnant and weigh 110. I’m so glad I found this forum bc it wigged me out being late and have taken a pregnancy every day..negative.

The “cycle” is the time between the bleeding. If that is late the cycle is lengthened. The first day of bleeding is the start of a new cycle.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin 300 mg 1X a day for about a month and my period is over 2 weeks late. Took a pregnancy test and it was negative. It has to be the Wellbutrin, Im glad Im not the only one experiencing this!

Sarah I’m curious what happened next? I’m on the same two meds and currently 10 days late; have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all negative. What is even going on?!

Technically I’m a day late on my period. I should have started two days ago via my period predictor. I’ve been cramping, bloated, and irritable like my period is about to start but to no avail. I’ve taken two pregnancy tests, both negative. I started Wellbutrin in April. I noticed my period got lighter but didn’t connect it to meds. I figured since I was getting older, 35, it was changing. My dosage was upped at the beginning of July from 150 mg to 300 mg. Now my period is late. My period is extremely predictable. The predictor is right give or take one day. There is a possibility I could be pregnant considering I had unprotected intercourse but it wasn’t during ovulation. I am extremely stressed, which doesn’t help my cycle. This is driving me insane.

Last month on my period I got upped to 425mg xl and this month my period is a week and a half late. Me and my fiancé tried in March and he’s hopeful I’m pregnant but I told him most likely it’s the meds. Although if I don’t get my period in a few days I’ll take a pregnancy test to see just in case and if still no I’ll have to talk to my doctor ??

I'm curious if anyone has experienced their period on time but very short and turns into (not to get too graphic) a dark brown sticky goo? Also have taken multiple pregnancy tests

That's exactly what's happening for me. I'm on the pill, so I normally don't have heavy periods. But I've had two periods now on 300mg XR and while both were on time, they were both exactly how you are describing.
