There are many medications and natural herbs that promote appetite. Ask your Dr. about them. This isn't the place to come to asking about drugs because we don't write them. A MD does. An MD also knows (generally) which medications will help. But, remember if you are taking any appetite suppressant such as a stimulant then of course other drugs are not the answer. If you take a stimulant for a legitimate medical need then you've probably been on it awhile. The appetite suppression just like the other side effects tend to go away after a period of time. In that case drugs that would help stimulate appetite is helpful. Many antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs are noted to cause significant weight gain. I was ill and couldn't eat and was very thin and depressed. The MD started me on Seroquel at a low dose and increased it rapidly over a month. That med saved my life. It pulled me right out of a deep depression and without noticing after about 4 months I had gained 30 lbs. I thought I was eating normally then I thought about it and realized it was normal but it was consistent and a lot of food at every meal. I needed to gain the weight and was up a little more than I liked. When I didn't need the Seroquel any more I stopped it without any problems and within a couple more months I was down to my normal healthy baseline weight. It was so simple. I didn't have to even think about what I ate. It influenced my appetite in a positive way. There are many other antidepressants and antipsychotics that help with weight gain but it is considered a side effect and if you get a prescription it will have to be off-label because you aren't taking it for a reason it was evaluated or approved for. Marijuana of course is legend for appetite help. Another strong drug for people with severe weight loss issues is called Megace. Good Luck.
