Weaned Myself Against Doctors' Wishes.......so Damn Glad I Did.

PEOPLE !!! Read the numerous side effects of this harmeful medication.....I suffered from nerve pain in my arms, but it came & went....I could still work & function..but Dr. suggested Lyrica & the nightmare started. Everything - weight gain, severe joint pain, memory loss, loss of vision (permanent) dental issues, emotional & psycological changes, depression, black-dark thoughts-suicide? Me? I was taking 300 mg per day in 100mg doses & was a healthy 49 yr old working mum of 4. I almost lost it all ... finally, I weaned myself in 50mg doses per week until I started my first day without it & the issues slowly started to go away...I am grateful to be here one year later & feeling better than ever. Smoke cannabis, meditate, swim, massage, etc. etc.....ANYTHING BUT TAKING THIS MEDICATION !! I'm Canadian & our testing is much more rigorous than in US. They know this drug is causing more harm than good, but who wants to lose out on bizzillions.....hang in there people. There will be implications but probably not for many years from my research. Keep notes & document everything...just in case. Reach out for help - don't go cold turkey either - very serious consenquences. Do it slow & it will work. Good luck to you all.....

Hi, Rosie! I'm very sorry about the bad experience you had with it.

However, there are risks associated with any medication, even over the counter products. The only thing you can really do is try to learn as much about any given medication as possible and discuss any concerns with your doctor, so you can make the most informed decision possible.

Learn more Lyrica details here.

Some of them may not be worth the possible risks, but in some cases, a condition could be life threatening if left untreated.

How are you doing now?
