Watson Hydrocodone Pills - Which Pharmacy Carries Them? (Page 3)
UpdatedI live in northern ky and walgreens quit carrying watson brand and their new brand makes my whole body hurt. I want to find what pharmacies carry watson?
Re: Lynn (# 39)
Calling Watson directly will have no effect whatsoever. You cannot buy from them directly. As long as there are "bean counters" at these corporations that believe they can save 1/100th of a penny per pill they will go with the cheaper pill. They could care less that the quality is awful. They only care about the cost. Maybe, Watson might tell you where their products can be found.
Re: Lynn (# 40)
I don’t go to a Walgreens or CVS I go to a independent Pharmacy and seem to have it more times than not. Walgreens in California that I found don’t carry Norco (yellow Qualitest 36 01 v) 325-10’s. Some CVS carry the Norco 325-10. Norco brand would cost you about four hundred dollars.
Watson quit making generic hydros 10/325-APAP. Teva pharmaceuticals has taken over their generics. Google Teva & ask for the NDC # for that med, then call pharmacies with that med #. Hope this helps! I am allergic to certain dyes & fillers, so I have to be very careful! Good luck!
Re: Lynn (# 43)
Here is a copy of letter I sent to amneal:
Dear Amneal pharmaceutical,
I have been on Watson's hydrocodone 10/325 APAP for years at no more than 25 mgs a day.
However, when I picked up my Rx at local Walgreens,it was substituted for your product.
Everyone is different, but your product does not work for me at all!!
I get stomach cramps, chills & constipated! It is not because of change of meds,I tried this med years ago, same problems!
It does nothing for my pain,Tylenol works better than this product!
I took BOT medical in college & my former roommate was in pharma! So I know more than the average person.
What is the NDC # for a comparable med to Watson's? I will tell you Watson no longer does this generic med.
I cannot take your meds!
I do my best to stay healthy & active, due to my conditions!
Please, respond to this inquiry as I am suffering & I really don't like the side effects I am having!
Thank you for your time!
Best regards
Lynn
Re: W john (# 41)
Hello John, I called for info, to find out what was happening? I am still searching for answers. However, I did get answers for my questions, whether true or not, I am still checking. I did find out through my insurance company, that I can get pre-authorized (I have a ppo policy) meds. I wish everyone the best of luck! Always check with your PCP before changing, starting, stopping any meds or otc products!! Thx!
Re: Lynn (# 45)
Thank you for your efforts. Everyone needs to keep in mind that every State has different laws and insurance in every State will, most likely, be different. With those qualifiers stated PLEASE Google Watson on the internet. They were bought out by another company. The new company does still manufacture certain medications, in certain States, under the "Watson" name. That, however, does NOT mean that they are formulated like the "Watson" medications were prior to being bought out by the other Corporation. They may be but there is no guarantee that the meds are the same. Only the name is guaranteed to be the same. I have decided to go with the name brand thinking that it will be more consistent. I don't start until the precertification process is approved by my insurance company. Without insurance I was quoted from $179 to $279 per MONTH for the prescription. I take hydrocodone 7.5/325. I have seen prices all over the board on this site but the prices I quoted are reality in my State.
Watson is no longer sold in my town and the brands they do sell don't work. I understand that the government has an epidemic but people are starting to buy them off the street or have to take more than prescribed to get relief. I'm sure Mexico loves this. Hello more problems. Now I personally am going to go to a stronger drug. I need pain relief! I'm not addicted to hydrocodone but am afraid of getting addicted to the harder stuff. Pharmacists just buy the cheapest meds. Is it all about the buck$? Which pharmacy carries Watson hydrocodone? Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: In pain insane (# 47)
Guess you haven't seen my post (#46) or read it. I explain what happened to the Watson brand. If you think that you won't get, shall we say "dependent" on hydrocodone don't fool yourself. If you take hydrocodone for any period of time you will become "dependent".
Isnt this an outright travesty. I already knew those piece of crap Amneal mfg pills made me sick gave me headaches and took no pain away at all so i always went to walgreens to get my watsons. Surprise when i got home with my script to find this crap in its place. I called right away to ask to switch them out because one other month i made this mistake getting cheaper ones at kroger and went through 30 days of torture. Walgreens said no way and they wont be carrying watsons anymore and i guess they didnt feel that was pertinent to tell someone whose pain levels get so high i get suicidal so i am in the midst of one of the most painful months of my life. I love how poharmaceutical companies and pharmacies have no idea how life changing that can be but they give no damns at all! Im praying the little pharmacy I know has always carried them still does because if not I just dont know if I can take this anymore. I firmly believe these pills are placebo with negative effects so people wont want them anymore. Again these addicts are ruining my life us who are in real pain. It makes me sick

Walgreens told me no more watsons in their stores in texas
Re: Stargazer19 (# 50)
Understand that Watson has been bought out by another company and they are not manufacturing generic hydrocodone or any other pain medication I am aware of. It is my understanding that the "Watson' name had been kept on certain meds but not many and then only in certain States or regions. I had to move my prescription from Walgreens to another pharmacy because they told me they will no longer stock Watson generics. They only have an awful replacement manufactured by Allegan. These replacement pills are too awful to explain but you can believe that the so called "pain pill" crisis is causing this. The reformulation is intentional. Not only are the binders (inert ingredients) different but they are not even putting in the amount of pain medication that is on the label. I read one post that said that if you see "7.5" mg hydrocodone they are only putting in "6.0" mg. The so called "opioid" crisis is taking down street addicts and pill thieves but everybody that has been prescribed pain medication for many YEARS and is using it correctly. I have contacted many Congressmen on this issue and have NEVER received a reply.
Did you find out anything on this? I’m having the same issue. The fillers are making me sick.
You can definitely tell the difference with the bad headaches
Re: W john (# 48)
I don't know about being dependent? I go hollistic every 3/4 years. I hate taking meds, but in order for me to have quality of life, I need pain relief! I maintain, have for years on low dose, average 15-20 mgs a day, sometimes less (warm weather) no more than 25 mgs a day (cold weather). As for Watson, they no longer make generics, I called them, so I suggest everyone call them & see what they say to you!? I can't take alot of meds, like Percocet, anything morphine based, Norco yellow (allergic to the yellow dye). Amneal product needs to be recalled, made me very very sick! Fortunately, I did a home remedy, feeling better! Good luck all! Blessing!
Re: Apple (# 1)
Watson became Actavis a few years ago. Each generic should be processed the same but I have found that to be the case. So much so that I had a failed drug panel due to a morphine metabolite. I believe it was an error in the making of the drug but that’s just me...no evidence to prove it.
In any case, if you’re really having issues, talk to your doc about alternative treatments.
Re: Lynn (# 54)
What is dependent? The feeling that you have to have your pills everyday. You don't abuse the use of the pills by taking more than prescribed unless directed by your Doctor. You don't do any conduct that would be considered illegal. However, you have to have your meds everyday and if you try to quit cold turkey you can feel the withdrawal pangs. When you try to titrate down off the medications you feel the withdrawal pangs. This most often happens when you have been on opioid-based medications for years. When you reach the pure addiction level you abuse your prescription by taking way more pills than you have been prescribed. You have to buy extra pills from any source available. I have seen pill addicts and they are insane without their pills. I knew one person that was supposed to take two pills every 4-6 hours and they would take as many as 7. That was addiction. They had to go to an inpatient drug addiction facility and dry out under a Dr's supervision and in a managed facility as an inpatient. Dependence is bad but a person with strong resolve can get off the opioid-based meds if they make an honest effort. Addicts need professional help to get off their habit. Some have gotten rid of their addiction on their own but you have to be extremely strong mentally. If you cannot stop your pain meds on your own you may be addicted---not just dependent.
Re: MDsufferer (# 16)
Honestly it's not a problem st all. Just let your doctor know the problem.
Re: Stargazer19 (# 50)
Oh, oh my! U took the words right out of my mouth I was sick in pain Placebo feeling stupid meds I went back to my doctor with my bottle of pills and she counted them out and in return give me a new script for Oxycodone. It's a lower dose but way better than the replaced Watson. I hope this helps. I'm sorry you are having to go through hell.
Re: In pain insane (# 58)
Hi, may I ask what brand ( generic) of the lower dose percocet u got filled? There are many of us on the oxycodone 10-325 in severe chronic pain and have been taking them for years but out good generics seem to be leaving the stores. All I wanted to know is what company makes them. Are they oxycodone or oxycodone/ apap ( with Tylenol) thanks so much
Re: Lynn (# 43)
You can request Brand medically necessary but the doc should really do that so it has more weight. I suspect brand lortabmay be better.
