Was There A Konsyl Recall? (Page 5) (Top voted first)
UpdatedHas there been a recall on this product?
Re: Nona (# 82)
So I thought all was good when Walmart took my on line order for 2 - 15oz bottles of Konsyl. Said 2 days for pickup at my local store. 5 days later they cancelled my order “product not yet available”. Should have figured out its going to be a while before this product is back on the shelves!

Re: Frustated (# 84)
Everyone is not ready to sue. However as with the Rx prescription drugs now that are coming from out of the country, we need to watch what we buy and use. You may not know for years whether this product was contaminated with metals or whatever. If they are mfg something that you are ingesting-don't you want to know it is safe? A complacent attitude is why mfg's get by with things like this. THIS PRODUCT WAS RECALLED AND HAS A SUIT AGAINST IT FROM CALIFORNIA.
Go to a site called truenutrition and customize your own psyllium fiber drink. Recommend adding some flavor to it to add the silicon dioxide and maltodextrin (to smooth it). Each tsp of the original Konsyl "supposedly" had 5g of fiber in it. You can just do the same thing on the website: max it to 100% Psyllium making it 27g of fiber per serving.
I just ordered through target on line. Agent said it is in stock and will be delivered in 3 dayd.

Nothing good ever comes from politicians and lawyers....

Bob’s Red Mill Psyllium Fiber is very affordable on Amazon and It is working for me!
Just purchased Konsyl original formula in new packaging at WalMart yesterday. A little over 14 dollars. The packaging looks pretty much the same. I'm just glad it's back!
Re: John (# 7)
totally...none off the other products work the same
Re: Kathy (# 81)
This recall is old - note the product expired in 2016. It was manufactured years ago. This is not the current problem. There has been no mention of a recall. If it had been excessive lead levels, there most certainly would have been.
I had been a Konsyl Original user for many years until the Konsyl company removed it from the market. All my attempts to find out why were unsuccessful. Now Konsyl is apparently back with no explanation. Although I have found nothing that works as well as Konsyl, I refuse to return. A company that makes an ingestible health product and will not disclose why it was suddenly removed from the market to the detriment of its customers should not be trusted. I can only assume the worst about why it was removed and what kind of people run this company. I am currently using the CVS house brand. It's OK. I see Whole Foods sells a psyllium fiber husk. I'll probably try that. Too bad about Konsyl. I used to think highly of them.

Re: Christine (# 17)
Thank you Christine. We just paid almost $60.00 for a 15.9 bottle of Konsyl that was with shipping from Amazon. Can't be much higher. I am also allergic to lead and Mercury, so that is scary. I actually had Mercury poisoning. I would bet with the holidays it is not back before Jan 2018. Hope I am wrong.
Re: Stuck (# 21)
I totally agree with you on the quality control. I also use or did use the Easy Mix. However if you mix the reg in warm water it will dissolve. I still think there is more to it than the International issue. I think something was mfg in it that was dangerous.
Why would anyone have on label "Can Cause Birth Defects"? That is a biggie.
To be clear, there was NO RECALL of Konsyl. The company was simply looking for a new supplier, for whatever reason, and it took much longer to find one, and get the operation up to standards than they anticipated. The stock on shelves ultimately ran out as the completion time was continually extended. I don't know where you live in GA, it is a good sized state, but the Austell store has one in stock for $14.44, the same as Walmart charges nationwide, and has for some time. I just looked for a couple of zips in GA and picked one. You can do the same for where you live. You must have been looking at the price per ounce which is 91 cents? If you don't have a Walmart distribution center near your residence, you won't be able to get it as quickly as a larger city. Again, it is pickup only, they won't deliver it yet. Good luck.
