Warnings Regarding Oxetol

Recently it was fiagnosed that I have partial complex seizures hence the neurologist prescribed Oxetol (to be gradually increased from 150 mg twice a day to 450 mg twice a day). I was NOT TOLD ABOUT ANY CONTRAINDICATED medicines by the Doctor. A week later, I had fever and another GP (who I had told that I am on Oxetol), gave me the anitibiotic Oflox. Only when I suffered excruciating headaches and could not lift my head for an entire day, did I find out through our family physician that Oxcarbazepine and Fluoroqinalones are contraindicated. Then, by the time I was settling into the 300mg dosage (at least four weeks after having started the medication) I had the most terrible itchy and angry rash all over my body which refuses to go. Again, my neurologist had NOT warned me about this. It took me three days of suffering to find out the cause of the rash, which was diagnosed by a dermatologist. I have now been put on steroids to control the skin rash. Just thought others may benefit from my experience...

hi,
i have been taking oxetol 300mg and my doctor had warned me not stop continuing the mediation if any rash or itchiness occours.yes, oxetol does have this kind of side effects .if u do suffer from any kind of rash or itching immediatly di- continue the medication and consult a doctor
