I understand, had same thing with knee replacement surgery in Florida, it's so bad, I got sick with the oxycodone and itched so bad, think that was the only thing that worked, you feel so bad when you get sick and you take it every 4 hours, if you don't sleep at night like me; easy to get behind eating then you get sick - real sick. Percocet or Demerol is all they have and Demerol is like Baby Aspirin and Percocet didn't help my toothache in California. I truly wonder about what is going on in Florida, I suffer because the old people are desperate for money and sell their meds to drug addicts and Florida can't fix this. I think Florida needs to take some field trips!!

Problem is only getting worse and with the State of Fl acting like my physician, they are compramising my health. I have Multiple Sclerosisi and Congential Spinal Stenosis and have been on same dose of Norcos for 5 years, the doctor tried several other alternatives before we went to opiates but I either went into anniphalacatic shock (lost my airway) or tacacardia, now I've gone 4 days with nothing but Tylenol and the pain in my legs, left side and left side of face are so bad I just want to cry. I'm so completely clueless about what to do, I consider myself a smart person and I have no idea what to do...

May not be the total answer, but the Walgreens Pharmacy in Sun City Center (South of Tampa) does carry Oxycodone, but it is only 5 mg. Just had it filled last October. They may have other strengths. Does anyone know where you can fill a prescription for 50 mg or 100 mg of Demerol or the generic Meperidine or Meperitab in the Tampa area?

Mike, I haven't heard of anyone getting a Demerol rx anymore since there was a legal suit against them. I was told that a med like that could be dispensed to cancer patients. And I heard that your local cancer center should have no problem filling a med like Demerol.

I gave up on CVS a while back when there seemed to be a shortage on oxycodone they never have narcotics of any kind as far as they're concerned. The funny thing about these pharmacies that accept cash that's confusing to me is I thought it was against the law if this is true then why isn't the government coming down on them.

What u do is, when u go to cvs or Walgreens u have to be ran through the DEA NOW. it takes about 4yrs and u should be good. If they don't call corporate and b****. By the next day they will order it in. I go to publix and have been there for 4yrs now and nothing is on back order. Also try target too. Hope that helps

They are so full of crap, I'm going to a pharmacy for the last three years and filled them with no problem. all the sudden the pharmacist has told me the last time I filled my prescription if that would be the last one he fills, but if I walked in with cash I bet you that cash that he would fill it. he's saying the reimbursement is down. I've tried reaching out to my insurance company and they are trying but they're having about as much luck as I am. this is frustrating. I feel that we are being picked on and the people that have back problems or foot problems or any kind of problem that requires a narcotic or just being singled out due to the junkies that are out there that sell this medication and buy it to sell or abuse. I cannot function without it and I don't know what I'm going to do and I refuse to go to detox or rehab just because the pharmacy will not fill out a prescription for me. I feel that they should be fined. It's just a bunch of crap that they're putting people through and I would like to say that if their family was going through something like this how they would deal with it? I'm really annoyed if you can't tell.

How you can tell if somebody is lying about their painting and the medication is not helping them. When they say I'm always in so much pain it means that they're lying and they're addicts because when you take your medication it's suppose to alleviate you of your pain. A lot of people that ride the little carts and wear all these braces and Canes are a bunch of liars they're not in pain they just want to get their medication that they are addicted to but they want to call everybody else a liar. I have seen the lie with my own two eyes. Just remember if somebody tells you that they're in constant pain they are lying why are they taking their pain medication if they are in constant pain that means that the medication does not work. They like the big money they make I guess rite.

What is wrong is people writing about others selling pills for 25.00 each. You think the DEA and doctors don't read these posts? They do. The last thing these ppl want to see is anyone making big money so this is part of the problem along with of course the fakers who were getting heavy duty pain meds for years on end. All the fakers and people saying how much they get for pills is what has caused all these problems for the really sick people who are suffering now.

Like how in the hell can someone have over 10 different surgeries on ten different areas of their body spanning years, not related, no diseases, no cancer - never had a strenuous job, hell they've never worked more than 5 years out of their life and they're 62 yrs. old and still claiming constant pain!!! They had a back surgery 20 frickin' years ago to correct, what?, I don't know because they have never had anything wrong with them! Anyway, no way in hell someone has this many ailments and surgeries for 30 frickin' years long. The body heals itself of injuries. I understand broken bones can still hurt up to a couple years later but they're not going to cause severe pain 24/7 enough to be on heavy duty cancer pain meds around the clock. I know several people who lie about pain so they can stay in their little stupor around the clock. They become nasty people too, antisocial, except on social media of course! They lie, they're troublemakers, they're just nasty. I am well aware there are some very painful diseases and of course those suffering with end life cancer pain who truly need heavy duty pain meds but it's not the people I described above, far from it. They do not take their meds as prescribed either, they abuse them. They smoke and burn holes in all their furniture, they nod out in their plates of food. Hell, how about this: One claimed to be so exhausted from so much housework around the clock that they had no time to even shower AND fell asleep while standing at the sink doing dishes!!! YES, this person actually believed in their mind that they were exhausted from housework. They don't even have a job! The sad part is their family has allowed and enabled this behavior from this very obvious full blown drug addict. Over 30 years of this and their spouse is also addicted and abusing pain medications. There is no legitimate reason for this person to still be on pain medications meant for end of life cancer patients. This is what needs to STOP.
