Waiting Period For Surgery After Reclast Infusion
UpdatedMy annual infusion is due this month. I need shoulder surgery. How long do I need to wait after the infusion to have it done? I am scheduled to have two dental implants at the end of June. May I presume that is far enough into the future? I am in my mid-70s and have had two infusions in 2015 and 2016.

Had reclast infusion July 11, 2023 . Now need surgery for trigger finger. How long should I wait to schedule surgery.
First, I'm 70 years old. After I had my 1st infusion 2 years ago, I was told by my dentist that after a year of the infusion, if I have enough bone, he can do implants. all of my back teeth, uppers and lowers, had root canals and crowns and they were all slowly breaking off. so I went for dentures, with the belief that I could get some implants that the dentures would hook on. I had my 2nd infusion, and was again waiting for a year to be up because the dentures were awful and I couldn't wait. But this time I went to another dental practice to not only get the implants but get new dentures made. This dentist told me that I can never get implants because of the osteonecrosis risk. I'm assuming this is it for me. They want to do another infusion this month but my DEXA scan showed minor improvement in the spine but significant decrease in BMD in my femur and hips. I don't know what to do. And I don't know anyone personally that took the drug, so I'm just looking to reach out to see what other's experiences have been.
Re: Kat (# 1)
I was told (by the clinic where I get my infusion) that there should be no problem getting surgery anywhere else on the body, except for the mouth. I'm a little concerned because I might need surgery on my hand, but I'm moving forward assuming it'll be okay.
