I've heard that some antibiotics including amoxicillin can test positive for cocaine.

Hi, i've been taking amoxicillin, hydrocodone, methylergovine, ciproflaxin, nitrofurantoin and doxycycline hyclate. I dont use drugs but went to get tested for dcf today and came out positive for cocaine, but i don't use cocaine. Does anybody know what med could have caused this and will they be able to tell in the lab that it was the medication?

No way that could have caused positive for Methamphetamine. BUT many many other things can. Something as simple as Vicks nasal spray.. I have tested positive for Methamphetamine as we'll so I've been reading non stop since this happened. Here's just one link that is helpful:

Just copy that link and also be sure to check out the list of drugs even OTC products that will create a false positive. You need to see if any of those apply to him and def. have it sent to a lab for further testing.
