I'm sorry, but I don't really have an explanation for you. It really just depends on your body and how it reacts to the medication. Not everyone experiences energy from it, when I was on Morphine years ago for pain management, it always did the opposite to me and I couldn't stay awake.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
