What Can I Do For Side Effects

have just started taking morphine for severe pain in my spine due to arthritis. The side effects range from restlessness, itching, not sleeping and fidgety. Can anyone tell me how I can stop these or lessen them. Can I take paracetamol? I am also asthmatic also have topic eczema. Am in my late 50s have been treated for arthritis in my spine and my other joints for the last 10yrs but my spine is the worst. It has been getting progressively worse over the years. Recently its been so bad, I've hardly been able to stand up straight let alone walk. Since Tuesday this week I've been taking MST CONTINUS M/R TABLETS 30mg. One twice daily. They do help the pain but I'm worried about these side effects mentioned above. Will they subside as time goes on or am I going to have to find a way of living with them, if so what can I do to make it easier??? Will be thankful for any advice given.

Most side effects will abate, but it usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for your body to adjust to the medication. If they continue after that, then you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medication.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
