Vk 500

i took a pencillin along with a loratab 5 and i had a really bad reaction to it like dizziness and nause is that suppose to happen when i combine the both?

Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Penicillin VK and Lortab. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.

There is however an interaction with Penicillin VK and food. The guidelines note that certain penicillins may exhibit reduced gastrointestinal absorption in the presence of food. Therefore the therapeutic effect of the antimicrobial may be reduced. (You can simply adjust your dosing intervals to accommodate this).

As far as the symptoms you are experiencing, I'm thinking that it is side effect related. Did you just recently start taking both of these together?

NOTE: Nausea is a common side effect associated with Penicillin VK, while dizziness is a side effect of Lortab.
