Visine Lr Discontinued? (Page 2)

Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?
Hello Dan, Thanks for your response. Seems difficult to believe that a generic brand would work as well as Visine LR, but I may give the Kroger brand a try. I have been using Lumify, but it truly is costly for just a little bottle.
Has anyone purchased Allergex from a website called zimseller?
Re: Roxann (# 1039)
It is just a generic brand sold by Kroger store (King Soopers in my area). It is just labeled "Kroger Sterile Eye Drops Redness Relief", with the ingredients I listed previously.
Re: Dan (# 1037)
Hi Dan....what is the name of the product and location where you purchased? and where are you purchasing it from if it's not available in our areas?
Thanks!
Mark
Re: Dan (# 1036)
Hi, can u give us the name of the product?
Re: Meenal (# 1034)
They do come back in stock every few months on the online store. They’re expensive but they do lift the eyelid.
Re: Deb (# 1035)
Hi Deb, and everyone else still looking for a substitute for Visine LR. I have found a wonderful substitute in the form of a generic brand carried at my local pharmacy. Trust me I followed this thread from the beginning, and never found ANY substitute that worked like this, it's as if you're using the LR again! The ingredients are Glycerin 2.25% Lubricant, and 0.012% Naphazoline Hydrochloride for redness relief. If you cannot find that in your area, let me know and we can find a way for you to try it!

If it's sold in my area, it must be sold elsewhere in the country, and I almost guarantee this stuff works as well as LR did with its active ingredient of Oxymetazoline.
Just checking in to see if someone has come out with something less expensive than Lumify. Guess not.
Re: Roxann (# 1031)
Hey Thanks for the information, I just checked the shopify store. Their prices are exorbitant (even after a 10% discount). Over and above that they are all “SOLD OUT” .
Wow! Time flies. I started using my bottle of Lumify on July 20th. I can't believe it, actually. So, 1 bottle has lasted me nearly 5 months. But I don't use it daily... maybe once or twice per week. I can imagine that if I were working, I'd be spending a small fortune on Lumify.
I really hope that Visine or another company will make a similar effective eye drop in a clear, larger bottle for about $5.
Yesterday early morning, I was going to Walmart and prepared to buy more B+L Max Redness Relief eye drops (the 2-pack). Since I was going out, I use my Lumify for clearer eyes. Well, only thing coming out of the bottle was the last bit of foam. I was out. Ugh! Luckily, I was able to get just a bit of the solution in each eye.
I had no idea I needed another bottle. This is my biggest complaint about Lumify. If I had been going on an interview, I'd be upset. It'd be nice if I could stock up on a few bottles at a time, but I can't. These days, I have to plan my spending down to my last penny. Thankfully, I had saved a $2-off coupon, but that is still $10, when I planned on spending less for the B+L. I still have one bottle of B+L, so I bought Lumify instead.
Over the past several months, I tried to estimate how much Lumify I had left. You just can't tell. I really wish the makers would put it in a clear bottle. I think they don't want to do that, because the amount in the bottle is so little. So, I'm looking through my posts here to see when I bought the Lumify, to somewhat estimate when I will need another one.
Re: Meenal (# 1030)
I have the same problem. I just purchased Allergex at red-out.myshopify.com. They also have Cendo Asthenof. If u use the code DROP10 he will take off ten percent. Good Luck.
Re: Meenal (# 1023)
For my eye problem - PTÔSIS (droopy eyelids) Visine LR was brilliant .
Lumify doesn’t work at all for me. So I have to keep procuring Oxymetazoline based eydrops
CENDO ASTHENOF (Indonesian) or AlLLERGEX (South African)
or at least B& L Redness reliever ( without Oxymetazoline hence not so effective )
Please do let me know if anyone finds any other good Oxymetazoline based eye drops anywhere else as the above 2 are quite complicated to procure !
Hi all. I'm just keeping this site in mind and posting since I have the time. I received another email that this topic has been inactive. They want us to keep it going.
Just expecting Visine to reveal eye drops similar to Lumify. I'm thinking it has to be one of these months, unless the company is going downhill. They have to compete.
I know it's great to have competition, but I wonder sometimes how well a lot of companies are "truly" doing. They're still cutting down their products and taking out ingredients, making them a cheaper quality,
When Visine LR disappeared, I made a purchase from a drug store in Canada that still had a last stash of Visine LR. And anyone can just easily search on their computers to find other stores all over the place that carry what they want at a cheaper price. It seems like constant competition now, more of a dog-eat-dog type of situation. So, I'm also anxious to see how the businesses are doing a few years from now. Of course, I hope it's all great news.
I feel pretty certain that Amazon and Walmart won't have a problem.
Re: Traci (# 1026)
I am also out of work... for a while now. Good luck to you and me.
Anyway, my eyes probably get redder because I wear makeup and I am really sensitive to stuff. I'm that woman who never leaves home without her makeup. Any kind of eye makeup, I have to be careful about. My mascara and eye shadow has to be replaced on a regular basis or it irritates my eyes. I only barely apply mascara to the very tips of my lashes.
That all said, Lumify doesn't last all day for me. But after I've put on my makeup, there is no way I'm going to put more Lumify eye drops into my eyes. They'd probably become irritated. I haven't used my Lumify drops when I'm makeup-free, but I suspect that if I did, my eyes would probably look a lot brighter for a lot longer.
When I'm wearing makeup, my eyes don't remain super white, but they also don't really turn red like they can look first thing in the morning. So, I still look presentable. They probably turn like a barely light-pinkish color after maybe 4 hours. And I'm okay with that.
Re: Marvin (# 1025)
Thanks Marvin. I will keep that in mind.
The way I see it, I can never have enough good options to choose from. For me, it was like a nightmare when Visine LR was discontinued. And then trying different drops that just don't work.
For those of you who like Lumify... how long does it last? Lumify does work but only for a few hours. I’m in between jobs right now and only use drops for outings or interviews. The days I don’t leave the house I don’t use anything and my eyes rarely get red. It’s strange. But my point is... I don’t want to keep using Lumify a few times a day once I’m back working. Maybe I’ll just stay home forever. Lol
Re: Rhonda (# 1022)
There may be a different purpose, but I recently bought a CVS brand of Lubricant Eye Drops with POLYETHYLENE GL YCOL. 400 0.4%
PROPYLENE GLYCOL 0.3%
because my right eye only has become blurry, getting gradually worse over a year. After three trials in 5 days, it definitely improved, so I will continue. I do not know the cause; maybe just some chemical stuck in there, but it was nothing I felt.
Good luck to you, Meenal.
I hate the way things are nowadays. Not much remains the same. The goods and products we know and love are constantly being changed.
