Just so curious. I had the TV on this morning and saw a segment of QVC. A makeup artist was applying and selling makeup. She had these beautiful young models sitting in her chair. The camera did closeups and I noticed how bright all of the ladies' eyes were. They were wearing mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow. I really noticed a model with beautiful blue eyes. Anyway, the whites of their eyes were SO bright! I know the models were young, but they are obviously using something to get their eyes that white. Hmm... I wonder if I can find out somehow.

Rick - would you mind to list the ingredients of the Artificial Tears that you are using? I don't have that store in my area and I found several ATbottles that have different ingredients. If I knew what your active ingredients were, that would greatly help me! Thank you so much.

Rhonda -- that's a good point, I would call the home shopping channel and ask.

Just want to say - Thanks Rick for posting the Afrin mixture. I used afrin and walgreens artificial tears. Works great!

Tim... glad to hear that it's working for you. Having bloodshot eyes makes me so self conscious and this is the only ingredient that has ever helped me. I'm so relieved I don't have to rely on Visine any longer :)

Yes Allergex works well & the South African Expat shop has a good website , a fairly good website . It took 4 weeks to courrier it to India but that is also because of India Customs restrictions are time consuming.
So this seems a good option. I use Visine A for short term purposes & Allergex when I need to look bright-eyed for a longer period - ie. 6 hrs !

Nope. I actually bought one of those prepaid visa cards because I was a little nervous. I just entered in the visa information in the payment section on the checkout page and it was all good.

Has anyone used the new product by Clear Eyes called Pure Relief that uses the decongestant Phenylephrine Hydrochloride for the redness reliever? This is the first time I have seen this ingredient in an eyedrop. Could it be as good as Visine LR with oxymetazoline? Anyone who has used it please share your thoughts.

To Jeff and everyone else that asked the question if anyone tried the Clear Eyes drops with Phenylephrine Hydrochloride in them (US 9.95 each at Walmart). I was curious and tried them. OMG -- I didn't realize how RED my eyes were by mid-afternoon. HORRIBLE drops. I'm returning them to get my money back. Don't recommend! Regular Visine works better than that crap.

I haven't been here for a little while. Today, I sent an email to QVC, asking them what their models, spokespeople, etc use to whiten their eyes when they are on TV. They ARE using something, because when makeup artists apply makeup to the models, they do closeups and their eyes are "super bright." In magazines, you can't be sure the eyes are really white because they photoshop everything.

I am still plodding along with my B+L Advanced Eye Relief eye drops. However, I cannot put mascara on my entire lashes; I have to only lightly apply it to the very tips. If I use mascara on my entire lashes, a bit gets in my eyes and they get fiery red. With Visine LR, this was never a problem.

As a result, I now generally look like I'm not wearing mascara. I use just enough to separate my lashes and make me look like I at least have eyelashes. But I would still like to be able to wear more mascara to dramatize my eyes at times.

With Visine LR, this was never a problem for me.

Thank you for your continued efforts!

It is quite discouraging that there really isn't a suitable alternative to Visine LR in the United States unless you are willing to "mix" your own with Afrin nasal spray and artificial tears.

For those of you using products from outside of the United States, is the shipping to you going OK?

I have ordered and received Oxylin, Zoamet & Allergex. All three boxes state that the product should be used within 30 days of unsealing it. This was not the case with Visine LR. Should I be concerned if I use these products beyond 30 days?
