Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

I went to rite aid and bought it ( eye care allergy relief drops by rite aid) right away when i read your comments,and i was so amazed on the result, my eyes turned whiter than Visine Lr result. Thanks for sharing it ..this is better treatment for red eyes relief than Visine LR. I will not gonna use visine product anymore....try and give me a feedback...

I just wanted to post that I have been without this product for almost 3 weeks now, after twice a day usage for many years. I am beginning to believe what most eye doctors will tell you, that these products create their own need.. After two miserable weeks of redness and grittiness, my eyes are improving naturally. Clearer and brighter and I am only using a drop of Naphcon A allergy relief, and just some natural tears. I have lasik related dry eye syndrome. And I agree, its pretty shady that they are making no effort to publicly state that they've discontinued it. Starting to think that ingredient that worked so well, but not found in any other product, might be damaging and maybe they realized that. Anyway..I'm kind of glad I was forcibly weaned off it.

I went on Amazon and have found trouble finding it. The more I search the more I find my fear to be true...discontinued? This is the best product out there. Have used it for years!!

I tried Naphcon A and it seems to work pretty well. Another bonus is that it is from Alcon. Like many users of Visine LR, I have been using it for many years and before that, Ocuclear. I have to say, that I find it very insulting for J&J to discontinue this product knowing that they are the only eye drops available from them as well as anyone else that has this particular redness reliever which we know is better than anything else on the market. They pulled it from market with no announcement or explanation and when you call and ask they don't have any useful information. I will make sure not to purchase any J&J products going forward.

They've discontinued before & brought it back, let's hope they do the same this time (although they can't do it soon enough, in my opinion). As many others have said, it is the only eye drop I've found that truly works for me. Also, I can't believe this product has been on/off the market for years and still no one else is selling anything similar!?

I cannot believe lack of sales. I always found it difficult to find this product, it would sell out regularly at every store I could purchase it. People are now paying $80/bottle on EBay, so you can't tell me that there's not a high demand. Visine, I hope you are reading these posts.

I found four boxes for sale at a nearby Walgreens here in Vegas. On the shelf they were marked at $10.49 each! I grabbed up all four of them and at the checkout they rang up at $4.99 each. I suppose that I was lucky. I personally use a bottle every 2 months and I was about out and noticed that I couldn't find any at my usual drug store. So a google search led me to this board and I couldn't believe that Visine is discontinuing LR! Like many others here the oxymetazoline HCI in LR is the only thing that gets my red out. Is there a link to an online petition that we can sign?

So I again called Johnson & Johnson (they know me now!) and was told that Visine LR was discontinued probably (like you all have said here) to due to lack of sales. They said it was not due to any harmful side effects or it would have been recalled. I asked them to send a request to the Board of Directors and those in control of making such decisions to bring Visine LR back or let me know if they will make a new product with the same active ingredients I think calling and/or emailing them daily might help us...

Lack of sales?! We cannot be the only ones to use this. We just know how to "google" and found this board. I think that's a cop out reason! So they introduce a new one- I cant remember what it was- but it's a new visine product. I'm still very pissed. LOL :)

I just called and gave them my information, again.... I plan to call everyday until I hear from just a customer service representative.

I live here in San Antonio and now can't find Visine LR anywhere. I am very disappointed. This was THE product I valued most and would wake up to aside from my coffee. I called Visine today and was told they discontinued the LR claiming due to lack of sales. What? Really?

Call them at 888-734-7648 and demand they "re-launch the Visine LR product"

I too have used Visine LR for years and am getting desperate for a replacement. I got excited for a minute when I read the posts about RiteAid Allergy drops until I checked the ingredients against some of the multitude of other eye drops I have tried and found that I had Target brand allergy eye drops with the exact same ingredients and they did NOTHING for me. I contacted the Visine people via email and phone to no avail. Does anybody have any other suggestions??????

Exactly, I agree with you. The people and Johnson & Johnson would not tell me other than it was discontinued. I will look into starting an online petition since I already called and sent emails to J&J. I see the above post about Rite Aid
allergy drops. I will have to see if the ingredients are the same to Visine LR.

I tried Rite Aid Allergy Relief Drops this morning. They work just as good as Visine LR!! Thank God I finally found a replacement!

Your right! Nothing works as well! However, I was just introduced to Rite Aid Allergy Relief drops this morning by my sister. And to my amazement...it worked great!!!

I would really like to hear why they stopped it though. Will we all be blind in a year, if we continued using it? I mean --give us something..... ya know?

we all know repeated use is bad, but so are red, teary, gritty eyes.

I think an online petition would be great idea. There are many people searching for this product and they will easily find a petition and will surely sign it. I don't know how many people need Visine LR, but this would give us a good idea as well as Visine. This definitely needs to be addresses by Visine, why it was discontinued is beyond me. Please do start a petition, I think it's our best shot.

Last weekend I drove all over town on a quest, with nothing to show for it other than an empty gas tank, then I read about some Visine LR available on eBay, so I bought a couple for about $35 each on eBay. Just search for Visine Long Lasting on eBay and the listings will pop up. Yes, it was expensive, but so is gas.
