Can you please list the exact name on box of the B&L Maximum Relief? I went to B&L site and didn't see an exact name match. I'm having the same issue and feeling stranded without the Visine LR. Thanks for helping me and others with your postings.

Hi everyone... whoever has tried the B&L drops; do they sting your eyes when you first put them in? The Visine LR was good for the long-lasting whitening effect, but what I love, first thing in the morning is that cool, refreshing feeling it leaves your eyes in. That's what I'm going to miss most about Visine LR. So does the B&L drops do the same thing? I'm just curious. Because someone else recommended the Rite Aid allergy drops and although they keep my eyes white OK... not fabulous... the sting and do not "refresh" my eyes in the morning. Just curious.

I much prefer the "VISINE WORKPLACE" eye drops that were available in Canada as opposed to the "VISINE LR Longlasting" eye drops that were available in the USA.

I can't even find "Visine Workplace" on ebay.

Perhaps they have different non-active ingredients for their delivery system.

In any event, my eye doctor has been writing me a prescription for "Prednisolone 1% Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP" eye drops in the 10ml bottle for about 6 years now. It use to cost around $5 per bottle but now it's $80.

It's manufactured by ALCON Laboratories for Sandoz, INC. They cost me $80 per bottle at COSTCO, and anyone is allowed to use the COSTCO pharmacy, even if you're not a member.

The PREDNISOLONE 1% drops have been the best eye drops for me before finding the cheaper alternative of VISINE WORKPLACE. I highly recommend asking your doctor for a prescription to try it out. They even have a 5ml bottle for $40 at COSTCO.

My regular doctor (internist) now writes me the script, so I don't even have to see the eye doctor.

Anyways, they also have plenty of Bausch + Lomb Advanced Eye Relief at WALMART and their website; however, it only has 3 reviews with 3 or 4 stars.

I will pick up a bottle and test it for a week. I takes me a couple weeks to know for sure if I like an eye drop.

Just found a veritable bargin on eBay, two bottles of LR for $49.95. Says cheaper because they are marked 12/2014. That seller - clayplay678 - seems reliable - has over 6,000 feedback & accepts returns. They're also bottles with 2015 dates for higher $.

I asked Santa to put some in my stocking!!!

I bought one box of the bousch and lomb maximum redness relief eyedrops to try.
I have to say unfortunately for ME, it did not work as well as Visine LR.

It did not burn my eyes (as the Rite Aid Allergy eyedrops did) and it has a moisturizer in the eyedrops which was nice for my dry eyes.

However, my redness never completely left. Even with several eyedrops in each eye over a short time span, my redness remained.

Overall, again this is just MY experience, it is better than the Rite Aid Allergy Eyedrops but not as good as our Visine LR.

I think our eyes and their related conditions are varied. We must understand that what works for one person, may or may not work for you.

Nevertheless I am grateful for all the suggestions.

I'm going to try writing a letter or email to Walmart.

Walmart is, as you know, huge. I used to purchase many name brand products (example: fruit juices, bread, toilet paper, lactose-free milk), but then Walmart started stocking a "replica" (made by them or another company--I don't know) that is cheaper and just as good, if not better. So, that's what I buy now. It's just not worth it to purchase the name brand items anymore.

I can just picture Walmart coming out with oxymetazoline eye drops in a plain clear container and white carton.

At this point, it certainly cannot hurt to try.

Hello Aga,

Just like HB I cannot find the exact match on the Bausch + Lomb website. I see one called "Advanced Eye Relief Redness Maximum Relief", is this what you are referring to? Thank you for sharing your experience =)

Good news!

The Bausch + Lomb Advanced Eye Relief "Redness Maximum Relief" Redness Reliever / Lubricant eye drops work better for me than any of the Visine LR or Visine Workplace eye drops.

Bausch + Lomb even works better than my prescription eye drops. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I found plenty of them available at my local WALMART store for just $2.98 each with an expiration date of 4/16. They are also available on the WALMART website.

I was skeptical at first, but these drops are really amazing. Sure it's only been two days, but I'm confident these eye drops are a keeper! No redness at all, very soothing lubricant, and no burning. They last forever too. I like the milky texture as opposed to Visine's watery drops.

Active Ingredients: Hypomellose (0.5%) lubricant , Naphazoline hydrochloride (0.03%) redness reliever

Now I can go resell the Visine LR eye drops I recently bought on ebay for insane prices.

Try the Bausch + Lomb drops!

Rhonda,

That sounds like a good idea to me! Maybe Walmart will make an eyedrop with oxymetazoline. Let me know how I can help.

I used the B&L Maximum Redness drops and they did work for a few hours but not as long as the Visine LR. There's a lubricant in them I don't need and although the B&L drops helped, I'm going to Doctor tomorrow to ask for prescription drops. What prescription drops are you using now? Thank you for posting your success story.

I tried the bausch and lomb eye drops and they work better then visine lr. My eyes are whiter then they have ever been. I never thought id find another eye drop that would work this well.

The prescription eye drops are called: PREDNISOLONE 1%

The full name is : Prednisole Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP manufactured by Alcon Laboratories for Sandoz.

They cost $80 cash (out-of-pocket) for the 10 ml bottle at the COSTCO pharmacy in the USA, and $40 for the half size (5 ml bottle).

If you have prescription insurance it would help out with the cost. I've been using those drops on as "as-needed" basis for several years.

I am a long time Visine LR user. I called the 1 800 number from the Visine website, and they confirmed it had been discontinued (due to "difficulties in production"). I tried the Afrin nasal spray (one drop in each eye), it stung a little bit, but after a few minutes it was fine. Within 15 minutes my eyes were nice and white. Now I am going to try and mix it 50/50 with an eye lubricant and test it again. I will let you know the results.

Christina,

I wrote Walmart, but have not heard anything from them yet. I also directed them to this website. I just hope the email makes it to the right people. Either way, I saved my letter. If I don't get a response soon, I might re-send the letter via U.S. mail.

I also don't want a "lubricant" in my eye drops. That's what I loved about Visine LR. It just made my eyes feel really good.

Awesome, I have the recipe but have been afraid to try. Please let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks GregMech for reply. I went to doctor and he said I was addicted to the Visine LR and told me to go without anything for a month to see if my condition improves. I asked for Predisolone and he refused stating it will cause cataracts.Whatever, so I'm now using B&L Max Red two drops in morning to get relief for chronic eye redness which is best drop OTC drop I've found. I'm going to see an Optomologist for further evaluation next month.

I've been told that I was addicted to Visine also. That's a bunch of bull, I've had red eyes since I was young before I even started taking eye drops. Visine LR worked the best and all other eye drops work okay to lousy. I'm guessing that's the case for most of us.

I am with Tony. The other eyedrops just don't work the same for me as visine lr.

I also was led to believe that using Visine LR was bad for my eyes. I'd see little articles in women's magazines where doctors said it wasn't good to use eye drops every day. Well, I started using Visine LR right after OcuClear was discontinued--every single day! So, that's a VERY long time of constant use.

My eyes were recently checked, and the doctor said they are beautiful. I saw the films and I don't have any diseases, etc in my eyes. Just blurry vision that comes naturally as we age.

There are two types of doctors. Those that dispense prescriptions like candy, and those that are super-conservative and you end up having to the fight them all the way to the nail to get what you need.

The irony is sometimes it's easier to get stuff on the streets than it is your own doctor. I'm glad I have a doctor who gives me what I want when I need it..

Prednisolone 1% drops are fantastic as long as you don't over-use them 10 times a day for several months. They may can cause high pressure in the eyes which may lead to cataracts only if you over-use and abuse them for a very long extended period of time. I have been using them on-and-off since 2005 with excellent results.

I have 20/20 vision and perfect beautiful blue eyes. I don't even have to go to an eye doctor to get the eye drops because my regular physician is awesome. He simply sends me a prescription with several refills and I'm set for the year. If I run out and need a refill, it's never a problem to call him up.

The Bausch & Lamb Maximum Redness Relief eye drops are excellent; however, I alternate with the Prednisolone 1%. That daily regime works fantastic for me.
