I have 3 herniated disk in my neck and the same in my low back. One of each has a tear my doctor gave me vikes es 7.25 . They do not work for my pain . I am a painter by trade and I work for myself I have list jobs because I am simply in to much pain to do them. I have taken percoset in the past and they work great for my pain. They do not take it all away but allow me to do my work and not be on the couch with the heating pad in pain. I will take sometimes 2 or 3 viks to get some relief but it upsets my stomach. I have a doctors appointment to my sports medicine doctor who has put me on the viks next week. I Really Need Him to Give Me The percoset. I guess my question is what are the chances he will? Because a lot of people abuse these medications the people who they actually help have a life and be able to work and earn a living gave a hard time getting what works. I think each if us are different and different med work and some dont. I will probably have to go to a pain management doctor eventually does a yone k iw a good one I south Florida who actually cares a out his patients and is not afraid to give pain medication . Please help.

I am very sorry that you're in so much pain.

The best advice I can give you, in this situation, is to not ask your doctor for a specific medication. That tends to raise red flags that someone is drug seeking and, after all, they are the doctor and expect to know more about such things than you, so they assume they will be the one suggesting what you should try. Therefore, it is best to let them know that the current one isn't helping you and let them make further suggestions from there.

If they suggest Percocet, it's okay to say that it has worked well for you before so it could be worth trying, again, but you don't want them to feel or think that you're trying to get any specific medication.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas?

Can anyone suggest a good PM in that area?
