Viibryd Side Effects And Safety Concerns
UpdatedI am 46 and have been taking SSRIs for around 20 years. Tried at least 4-5 of them. I am so sick of all the side effects. You get rid of one aspect of a mental problem and find out the med causes a new problem of its own. I went on Effexor for awhile and didn't like it cognitively, so I am looking for something else. I guess the major things I'm looking to get away from are sexual side effects and weight gain and sleepiness. I tried Zoloft, and instantly couldn't climax. Got off it in 2 weeks. I saw Viibryd is one of the SSRIs with the least sexual side effects, so thought I'd go for it. I think it might be causing dry mouth. I just got a cold and it's been hell finding moisture to breathe. I woke up so dry and breathing through my mouth that I called an advice nurse. I do have a little pot belly too starting. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how safe Viibryd is and it's major symptoms for them? Will I be fat and have no saliva? I'm not sure this is a good trade off. My friend got cavities from dry mouth. Especially since I'm not sure how safe Viibryd is. I'm so sick of all these medical side effects. I really wish the pharmaceutical companies would stop preying on people that want easy solutions to mental problems. There has to be a more natural / less side effect solution. Anyway, if anyone knows about weight gain and severe dry mouth associated with and the safety of Viibryd, could they let me know? Thanks. Great posts btw. Helps a lot reading others' experiences on meds.

Viibryd is no more or less safe than any other FDA approved antidepessant. The symptoms you've mentioned can be normal side effects of it, as reported by the NIH, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, and headache.
There aren't really any that are side effect free, it's just a matter of trying them to find which one works best for you, without causing such problematic issues. For example, I had a lot of problems with Sertaline/Zoloft, as well, but I do great on Prozac/Fluoxetine, which I take for perimenopause symptoms.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
