Hi. I took 20 5mg/500mg generic Vicodin's over the course of 48 hours. I started on a Tuesday evening and took my last 2 and half pills Thursday morning. I had a drug test the next Thursday morning so I had a full 6 days of no use. I am 33 years old, 5'7" and about 155lbs. I'm also in relatively good health; basically no health problems. I recently failed a mouth swab test for 6 mam and was told I used heroin. I am drug free and never touched a drug. I just this morning went to my doctor and I went because my back pain I have had for 3 years that I have opted not to take pain killers for has gotten so bad I can't work out, I can't stand at work for more than 5 minutes with out pain and I am now losing sleep too. I told my doctor all of this and he thinks i need to have rehabilitation and physical therapy which doesnt even start till next month. I need a doctor that understands my immediate needs for my pain. I took a vicodin 5 at around 11 sm at around 1 pm I went to take another vicodin but picked up the wrong bottle (my husband had surgery and his dr gave him percocet). Since they looked the same, I didn't think about it until I put the bottle away and noticed my husband's name on it. The percocet is 7.5. I only got three hours of sleep last night, so I don't know the reason why I am so lathargic. I also have hypokalemia due to medication, so my system is very sensative. found a pill in my daughters purse. it was blue round and had a v on one side and 144 on the other. please let me know what it is? ## Right now my best guess is that it's some sort of over the counter product because the inscription which you described is not appearing as part of the standard U.S. prescription drugs. The FDA requires all prescription meds to carry a unique imprint code and description and those tend to be cataloged properly. Another possibility is that it is a prescription medication from outside the U.S. but at this point it is hard to tell. My wife is taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen SOL APAP at 2 tsps every 4 hours. Is Vicodin 5/500 the equivalent to this and can she take the Vicodin instead? She just had the Gastric Bypass almost a week ago. ## Vicodin does contain the same active ingredients (Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen), so it all depends on what dosage she is currently taking. Another thing to consider is that there may be a reason why she was prescribed this medication in a syrup form instead of a tablet, especially that she had surgery related to the digistive system. My Dr. has increased my Vicodin prescription from 5mg to 10mg. I filled the 5mg about 2 weeks ago. In Illinois, will my pharmacy fill the 10mg prescription, or will I have to wait for the 30 day mark? ## In most cases, they should fill the new one, but it is actually up to your pharmacy, it really depends on their concern about you doubling up on the Acetaminophen by taking 2 of them. I am 60 yr old female with Fibro since 1985. In January of 2011 I was diagnosed with MS and have severe leg pain (I need a walker to stand up). Since losing my job I am seeing a County Clinic Doctor who was giving me Vicodin ES 3x's/day. I told her once that I ran short due to breakthrough pain and she immediately cut me back to one regular vic a day!!!!!!! and gave me Elavil, Lyrica, Neurontin -- I am having so many side effects I don't know what meds are causing what........I need help, a liberal Doctor who will help me thru my daily pain. Generally, Narcotics have to be filled AND refilled on a face to face visit. Go to a Dr and do everything above board. Have deteriorating disc at the 4/5 in lower back. It is going out towards my back which to me is more uncomfortable but doctor will not give me any thing for the pain. I have taken Vicodin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen and now I'm trying the new back advanced but can't take the other pills. I have tried to get disability but doctor says I need surgery. I refuse to have it 1. cost to much with no insurance and 2. have family members that have had it and just made it worse. ## If the issue is so severe that you need surgery, it is doubtful that you will find any over the counter medication that will handle the pain. Looking for a new pain management doctor. I was a patient of Dr. Padda, he's a total jerk and you have to wait all day, the office is nasty and so are his employees. But, he will write. I had to quit seeing due to a change of insurance. I don't want to go through 20 appointments w various doctors. Just wanting to find someone quick and easy to deal with for my existing pain treatment. ## I was just referred to the padda institute for pain management. I've had one appointment with dr belcher out of the north county location. I can't tell if he will write or not or just do injections. I have done injections and other interventional type before with little success. Have you found anyone yet?

Wondering if it's safe to combine the two, 5/300 VICODIN and 800mg IBUPROFEN together? And if so, should I take them together at the same time or space them out? Having HORRIBLE migraines and muscle spasms. ## They can be taken together, if you have medical approval to take them both.
