Vicodin Vs. Hydrocodone/acetaminophen Sol Apap

My wife is taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen SOL APAP at 2 tsps every 4 hours. Is Vicodin 5/500 the equivalent to this and can she take the Vicodin instead? She just had the Gastric Bypass almost a week ago.

They are the generic version of Vicodin and Motrin.

Been taking 1/2 hydrocodone-acetaminophen5-500 at bed time & 1 meloxicam 15mg during day time for several months now & my problems is extremely rapid weight gain,, just like over night, all in my torso (belly, back, buttocks!

i had my gale bladder remove and dr gave my oxycodone which made me sick then he gave me tylanol with codeine mwhich did nothing i also have hydrocordone and was wondering if it would be a better choice

I had gastric bypass several years ago. Can I take hyrocodone apap 10-500.. and will this help with arthritis pain. If not what medication can I take.

I had a prescription for vicodin and got hydrocodone/apap.
I also had a prescription for Motrin and got Ibuprofen.
Should I take them back to the drug store?

Hi Lee - does it say on the prescription bottle how much of each active ingredient are in the Lortab? If so, please post back with those details.

Vicodin ES contains Acetaminophen 750mg + Hydrocodone 7.5mg, so now it's a question of what the proportion of ingredients in the Lortab is.

My doctor just prescribed me Loaratab in error. He wrote the prescription a bit wacky and the Pharmacy instead of filling the bottle with Hydrocodine ES 750’s put Loaratab in it.

The prescription said something like, Vicodine ES 750 – 500 and I got Loaratab.

I have taken the Loaratab for my pain and it don’t come close to the relief I get from the ES 750’s

Can you tell me the difference between the two ?

Vicodin does contain the same active ingredients (Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen), so it all depends on what dosage she is currently taking. Another thing to consider is that there may be a reason why she was prescribed this medication in a syrup form instead of a tablet, especially that she had surgery related to the digistive system. Ultimately it would be advisable to check with her doctor before making any switches like that, especially with such a potent medication. Wishing her a speedy recovery!
