Vicodin New Strengths Hydrocodone

Hi I am prescribed vicodin 5/500 120x/month for my arthritis

I have a question, I wanted something with less acepthemanophen and was prescribed vicodin 5/325, I went to the pharmacy and they said there was no such thing, so I told my doctor and he prescribed me vicodin 5/300 , they are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. My question is how come the pharmacy said there is no such thing as vicodin 5/325 , and also is there a generic version of 5/300 ? Is it because on the script my doctor writes "vicodin" and not hydrocodone ? Please help me I can't spend too much money on my medication

I am not sure why your pharmacy said that, there is a 5/325 dosage, the brand name for it would be Endocet.

If the pharmacy doesn't have it, they should have been able to order it in for you.

And the 5/300 dosage is very new, so that may be why it's so expensive.

Have you tried asking that your prescription just be written for the generic?

Well the doctor wrote it as vicodin 5/325
And for the 5/300 it cost me almost 350$ i asked them for generic but I guess they have me the original, maybe generic isn't out yet?

First let me address edocet is not vicodin, it is the generic form of percocet. There is a 5/325 form of vicodin if your pharmacy doesn't carry it they can order it. Make sure on your script if you want the generic form that your Dr hasn't written "Brand necessary". Good luck!! I hope this wawhats helpful. I have been in the medical field for 25 yrs, so I do know what I'm talking about.

There is oxycodone 5mg, that has nothing else in it.

Vicodin does not come in a 5/325mg strength. If they want that strength, the drug is called Norco. Not endocet.

hydrocodon-acetaminophn 7.5-325 is this a 750 norco or vicoden..or a 500

You can always cut a 10 in half. just make sure you have it right before you ask your doctor. You might want to talk to your pharmacist if you have a good relationship with her.

There absolutely is 5-325 I am prescribed those ! Not sure where u live maybe they use diff stuff idk

It would be hydrocodone not endocet thats perocet ask the doctor to check the box that says that they can substitute for the generic
