Vicodin And Oxycodone Under Their Brand Names.

I went to the Emergency Room last Saturday on 12/122015. I could not take the pain. I got 2 Vicodin at the Emergency Room. The doctor sent me home with 2 prescriptions. The Prescriptions were for Oxycodone. I had a reaction to it. I think they were Percocet. I became very itchy. I called the ER and told a nurse what happened. She told me to come back. I was too tired and never went back.
Now it is Christmas and I wish that I did go back. Is Oxycodone the same as Percocet? I think that I had a bad reaction to Percocet about 10+ years ago. My old PCP told me to say that I was allergic to it.

Thank you so much. I do not have a doctor to prescribe pain medication.
My neurologist has made it clear that he does not intend to help me. If I was not in pain I could get exercise. I had a different neurologist who prescribed me Vicodin. I worked and exercised. because my doctor at the time actually managed my pain.
I was not ever addicted to pain meds. I cannot believe that I'm in this situation.
I had a PCP who gave me Percodan and I had the same reaction. I have been telling anyone who tried to give it to me again that I cannot take that.

Yes, they are the same. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone as its active ingredients.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, Vicodin contains Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen.
