Venlor & Urbanol

Hi. I have taken Venlor& Urbanol throughout my pregnancy. Inam still taking it. How does it affect my baby while I am breastfeeding?

In most countries, both of these medications are considered unsafe to use during pregnancy and while breast feeding, due to the risk of fetal toxicity and the fact that they are known to pass into breast milk to the baby.

Is your doctor aware that you are taking them?

The U.S. FDA warns that medications, such as Urbanol, also carry the risk of being habit forming and some infants have experienced withdrawals at birth. It could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.
