Venifor Iv Blew In My Wifes Hand
UpdatedMy wife was in a hospital for a stomach surgery. Recovery was slow and the staff decided to give her a Venofer IV infusion. She had a IV in each hand. The first hand IV blew earlier that day. So they used the other one, which my wife had complained it burned in previous uses and staff had quit using it. As the nurse injected the Venofer my wife experienced and complained of immediate burning but nurse finished injection.; There was immediate major discoloration and swelling. The staff did nothing to address this other than monitoring with the exception of an ice pack. It was over a month before the hospital had her see a hand specialist. Her hand continues another month later to be swollen and very Walking Dead Grey discolored. It has now been 2.5 months and very minor improvement. Though the improvement goes away. The doctors say lasers work to improve the skin discoloration or the scar tissue that has developed under the hand. Her tendons remain swollen and stiff. As are the joints. Does anyone have any ideas of options we can explore?

I too went through that worst pain and was screaming to take it out! Then I was under. After I awoke from my surgery, I wondered if they ran it too fast into the vein in my hand. I also asked for an anesthesiologist not a resident. But the surgeon wasn’t even in the room to do it. I woke with some pain in the area… but I’m sorry you still go through this. Just wanted you to know it is the worse pain from one who does not know how to inject anesthesia. I’d get a lawyer.
I’d consult a personal injury attorney. This sounds like malpractice. First step is to get your wife’s medical records from the hospital, and see what they’ve documented on this. Unfortunately, I don’t know of a medical fix for this. It just sounds like negligence and malpractice.
Re: Bella (# 1)
My wife had pain also. The nurse ignored her and continued to infiltrate. New symptom is black hair now growing on that hand.
Re: Beth (# 2)
We have obtained a lawyer. She has a new symptom too. Black hair is starting to grow in on the back of her hand.

Oh I’m so sorry!! Get that lawyer he will get all the medical records. So sorry I will surely pray for you both.
Sometimes hair grows out of say a dog bite and they skin graft it. It is actually common believe it or not. Do not worry. She should not have had to suffer that pain and emotional stress.
