Valsartan, Benicar, Potassium Chloride And Metoprolol

My Dr. recently changed me from Benicar hct 40-25 to Valsartan (?mg). Comparisons seem to be the same mostly, however, I also take Potassium Chloride 20... Can I still combine the medication? I take it in the a.m. I also take Metoprolol succinate 75mg in the evening. Is this ok to combine with the other medications mentioned above?

It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions, multiple medications are often prescribed to help lower high blood pressure as fast, and as safely as possible.

The FDA warns that you may experience more severe side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

Have you been told to stop the Benicar? You said your doctor intended to change you from one to the other, so it would best to take only what your doctor has instructed you to take.

Are you on any other medications?

Verwon (# 1) -See my first post for meds I take. Taking what Dr. orders is always a smart idea, I am just asking about the mix of the aforementioned meds.

No unfortunately...AARP prescription plan does not pay for Benicar anymore. I have been using for over 5 years. Valsartan is not working, meeting with my Dr. tomorrow.
