Valparin 200 Syrup Side Effects

My cousin who is 5 yrs old has a problem in communication though there is no defect in the ears.Instead of replying to the question posted by others the child utters the same question to them. Recently he has been diagonsed and reported that he has epilepsy in brain. Now he is advised to take Valparin 200 syrup every night of about 2.5 ml. This medicine is given for controlling the epilepsy in the brain and as a result of this the hyperactivity comes down. Doctor has advised to take liver test every 6 months as this medicine has got side effects. Are there any serious problems for this medicine? Can you please suggest us good ideas?

Well, letting his condition go untreated can be far more dangerous, if he is having seizures, than those posed from the medication. It does have it risks, but not using it is much more risky.

Valparin contains the active ingredient Valproic Acid and it's usual side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, weight gain and acne.

my son age is 2yrs,he was mtake 305ml every day & night,because suddenly fever at night also fits in 1 hr.So, that reason only dr say that medicine at 5yrs last,so any side effect for that also why that is occur, but he is very normal also every activity,pls reply..................

MY DAUGHTER S 2Y 4M OLD AND DIAGNOSED WITHGENERALISED SEIZURE . NOW I M GIVING VALPORIN 5ML TWICE DAILY.SHE S 13KG. IS THAT A CORRECT DOSE 4 HER AGE.SHE S TAKING THE SYRUP 4 THE PAST 1 MONTH AND DR ADVICED TO TAKE FOR 1YR.IS THAT WILL HAVE ANY IMMEDIATE AND LONG TERM SIDEEFFECT

My daughter is 6 year old. And diagnosed nmda encephalitis and give a advice of valparin 200. 6.5 ml three time a day. Suggested me how it know the side effect properly.

My son is 5 years old. He was having hypoglycemia on birth. After one year he was normal. When he was one year old he has febrile seizure. Dr. Started valparin 5ml twice daily. All the e. C. G and m. R. I was normal . we gave years medicine. Then I stop the valparin with doctors advice. After 2 months my son went to school and having high fever he had seizures in school. After one month he had again seizures without fever. E. E. G and m. R. I are normal. Doctor started valparin again 7.5ml twice a daily. Plz give me advice that my son will be normal in future or not. Seizures without fever is normal or not. Just plz give me response.

My son, 7 years old is suffering with seizures and doctor suggested taking zonegram 100 Mg every night. Later i was go to for a second opinion, then the doctor suggested he take Valparin 200 5ml every night. He has been having seizures for 4 years.

hi, my son is turning 3yrs old, his Dr. says he needs to take a 3ml of VALPARIN-200 twice a day for 3mos. bcoz of his seizure attack and my problem was my son accidentally drunk his meds about 1 dosage cup.. is he severely overdose? do i need a medical assistant? but he is normal, no signs of overdosed. no vomiting, no dizziness.. pls. help, TIA.
