You are most likely dealing with a yeast infection; caused by a common fungus known as Candida. Normally the acid balance of the vagina keeps this fungus from multiplying, but changes in the acidity of the vagina (often due to illness, menstruation, pregnancy, some antibiotics, or birth control pills) can stimulate yeast growth. According to baby center.com, having a yeast infection will not directly affect your chances of getting pregnant.

My friend has an infection on her vaginal lips. I told her to go to the doctor but she didn't agree with that approach. I'm really worried as it's almost been 2 weeks but the infection didn't subside. It looks like ringworm and sometimes she will be having unbearable itching.
