Since being on Vimpat, I have gotten shortness of breath (SoB), when ever I do any exercise, walking 3 blocks required a 5+ min rest I had pacemaker checked no issues with it. Dr wants me to remain on it, wants me to see Heart Dr (Have appt. within week) It seems to me that med is cause of SoB and I should be weaned off it due to existing heart issue Pacemaker. I have not had any seizures since on it, but SoB is really hard to do anything.

Hello, Greg! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having.

There is actually a warning issued by the FDA regarding this medication that states if you start experiencing shortness of breath, you should stop taking it.

When will you be seeing the cardiologist? Your other doctor may not be aware of the risk.

Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, depression and mild skin rash.
