Uti Meds Just Taken!!

I just took left over amoxicillin and nitrofur for a Uti that just became really bad. I'm hoping this will hold me over until I can call my dr tomorrow. I was told its ok to take older antibiotics Bc the worst is that they'd lose their ability to work. Please tell me this is true!!!

Does amoxicillin 500 MG capsues loose strength over couple years. and do they really mean anything if I have a heart mumur before having a tooth extraction?

Yes, it is correct, they do start to lose effectiveness over time, thus they don't work as well and you need to see a doctor to get a new prescription, as soon as possible.

Casey, I have never known them to have to be used for someone with heart murmur, before dental extractions. My own doctor has never worried about it. It's generally only used in cases of valve replacements and actual heart surgeries. However, you should check with your doctor, just to be on the safe side.
