Using The Drug Carasate

Will Carasate act quickly to alleviate abdominal pain from acid reflex problems. I have a hernia in my lower esophagus area that is affected by acid reflex. Also, is Carasate OK to take when you are on the drug OMEPRAZOLE?

Hi Ken Pettichord,

Are you referring to Carafate? Based on my research, the amount of time it takes for Carafate to start working really depends on your own body chemistry. From what I've read, some people have immediate results, and others don''t (results within a few days instead). Unfortunately when it comes to prescription drugs (or any type of medication for that matter), the only real way to find out how a medication will work is to try it for yourself and decide after a few days to a week or so if this drug is really right for you.

To answer your other question, there are no drug interactions found between Carafate and Omeprazole. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.

Also, I just thought I'd ask...have you ever considered juicing carrots to help with your acid reflux? I've read that carrots may contain vital organic alkaline elements to balance acidity in the body. I can provide some more information about this if you'd like!

I hope the info helps!
