Using Fentanyl Short Term To Withdraw From Suboxone (Top voted first)
UpdatedI previously was dependent on opiate pain meds, then got put on suboxone and have now become dependent on that. I wanted to be completely off everything so I stopped taking the suboxone and have used a fentanyl patch for a week so I didn’t have horrible withdrawals. My question is, after the patch wears off would I still have withdrawal symptoms? Is the patch simply delaying the withdrawals? My thinking was I could use the patch for a week to completely get through the worst of the withdrawals and then I would be off everything.

Please tell me you are joking?? That is like an alcoholic saying they are using tequila to get rid of the shakes from beer. You really need professional help to detox safely. I had to ask my doctor to help me get through the withdrawals and it took about 3 alternate medications and about 60 days.....good luck. Cannabis is also a huge help!!
Nope, now ur back on opiates. You cant use them. No matter what u will feel like s*** for a few weeks. DON'T mix the two or u will be in a real hell.
U r just substituting one for another. Though wearing the patch for a whole week might have helped the opiates still in ur blood become a little less, you are still going to have withdrawals. If u can, get 20 Tylenol #3. They r much weaker. U must remember u r not chasing a high. U r reducing withdrawals. The first 2 mornings, take 1 whole tyl #3. Then wait as long as u can. Until u think u can't stand it another minute. Take 1/2 of one. Repeat. Wait as long as u can take 1/2. U will still have WD but it will help. After about 4 days, take even less than 1/2 of one. Take a 1/4. Do that for a few days. Next u will barely take a nibble. This the best way I have found. When u do finally run out of the tyl #3 the jump off won't be quite as horrid. If it's still too hard, if u can get 10 more, do it again. Just nibbles only.
This works. If u need emotional support try AA. Find things to distract yourself. Go for walks. Dance in place. Some sort of exercise is really good. Do jumping jacks. U may find ur heart beats super hard and fast for the next month or even 2. It depends on how long you've been abusing them. Trazodone may help u sleep. I hate that stuff it gives me a hangover and makes me want to drink alcohol. I've been sober for almost 25 yrs. I know what I'm talking about. Do this while u r young. It's is SOOOO much harder on ur body when u get older!
stay on the subs drop down slowly do not mix the too what ever you do and do not use opiates what so ever stick to the subs and slowly go down 1 mil maybe a month or evey 2 weeks max
