In the year 2000 my friend suggested me to use Practine and Dexona for gaining weight. I did the same. I found my face is becoming big and people are telling that I am gaining weight. I used it for One month. After three to four months I felt uneazyness in my upper abdomen while sitting. I just took it carelessly. Day by day it increased. In 2004 I visited Doctor, but I was advised to loose weight. But it didn't decrease, rather day by day now in last of 2010 I was bound visit MD and Gastro. In USG the result is Mild Hepatemology. In Endoscopy the result is patchy duodenitis. My question is: Is this due to using Practine and Dexona?

Trying to gain weight artificially is never a good or safe idea.
Practine contains the active ingredient Cyproheptadine, which is an antihistamine, most commonly used to treat allergies.
It's usual side effects are: nausea, drowsiness, blurred vision and constipation.

Dexona contains the active ingredient Dexamethasone, which is a type of steroid and could very well be the culprit that has caused your problems.
Steroids can have serious side effects and should never be used without a doctors approval and supervision.
It can cause: nausea, dizziness, weight gain and fluid retention, especially with long-term use.

Have you been honest with your doctor about having used it?
If they don't know, then they can't help you get the proper treatment for your problem.

i am 18 year old.I taken Practin & dexona for two months before 1 year.my weight increase 16 kg but after someday i feel neusea,vomit,constipation and i loss appetite.i consult a md and he suggest me to endoscopy and the endoscopy report is gastrities.so please say me the way to get rid from it.My question is that practin & dexsona side effect stay how days.please answer me as soon as posseble.
