would this medicine cause severe side effects on a diabetic person. Does it help with female organs in flammation. ## Hello, Carm! How are you? This medication is most commonly used to treat overactive bladder. I don't see anything listed in the warnings about not taking it, if you're diabetic, but you should only do so, if your doctor has prescribed it for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, urinary retention, blurred vision and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was on oxybutynin for more than 10 years it no longer helped with the urinary problem because I did have a bladder suspension but I did continue to take it because it helped with my hot flashes and profuse sweating but about a year ago I stopped because I felt that I was admit for too long is that a possibility I would like to go back on it so I could stop sweating so much. ## Well, that would ultimately be up to your doctor, if they think it is safe for you to take, again. You'd likely experience the side effects, again, since you've been off of it for awhile and the FDA lists those as possibly including nausea, dizziness, urinary retention and blurred vision. Do you know what's causing the hot flashes and sweating? Have you tried anything else to treat these issues?

The doctor gave me a prescription and I don't know the name of the drug. I live in a nursing home and want to know about my meds. The med is blue and makes you urinate blue also. What is it called ? ## Hello, Carmel! How are you? Is it possibly Urolene? It can cause a greenish or blueish discoloration to urine and stool. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including diarrhea, nausea and increased urinary frequency.

My urologist prescribe 5 meq 3 times daily. I asked my gp to write a new script and showed them the bottle. She wrote it for 15 meq 1 a day. Is that really the same? I have been getting terrible leg cramps. ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? Yes, that would be the same, just taken all at once, rather than spread throughout the day. The FDA warns that this medication is very harsh on the stomach, so it should be taken with food. Is there anything else I can help with?

I first started on Enablex with worked really well. Cost went up and Dr put me on Oxybutynin 2 times a day. He recently changed me to the Extended Release and instructions state to used 1 at night. Well, it works fine until late afternoon and then I start having issues. If I could take in the morning it should last me all day but do not know if there is a reason that it has to be taken just a night. ## Some doctors recommend taking it at night, due to the possible side effects it can cause, which may include dizziness, drowsiness and blurry vision, as listed by the FDA. That way when they hit their peak, you're basically sleeping through them. However, it should be fine to take it in the morning, but it would be best to double check with your doctor to be sure. Is there anything els...

Similar and that will do the same thing as Detrol LA> ## Well, there is no current generic for the Detrol LA, from the approval time line, that probably won't become available until after September 2012. You can learn more about it here: Are there any other questions? ## Thanks so much you have been a big help. ## I was just wondering if your insurance was ok with Ditropan XL? I started taking Toviaz to help with my frequent urination. It worked great for about 4 weeks but then it lost its effectiveness. My urologist said that that didn't make sense. That's what happened though. He said I hadn't been on it long enough to build up a tolerance to it. Has anyone else who has been on it experienced the loss of effectiveness after such a short period of time? I'm a 45 year old male. ## Hello, Shane! How are you? It is very odd for it to lose effectiveness that fast, but not impossible. That's just what happens with some people. What other medications have you tried to treat this issue? Is it being caused by a prostate issue? If so, worsening of that may also have contributed. ## I had the same experience with Toviaz, Detrol, and Myrbetriq. My d...

I took smz/tmp for a bladder infection. After finishing the pills my feet legs and hands started swelling. It's hard to breath after just getting up and going to the bathroom, I have to sit down. Question, how long does this smz/tmp remain in your system? I took 14 pills of smz/tmp ds 800-160. ## Hello, Cecilia! How are you? Has there been any change?
